@ Ripcat -

How do you rationalize getting a mediocre defenseman in exchange for what could be considered a first-line centre?

Any team looking to get stronger for the playoffs isn't going to give up one of their best two defensemen.

Also, the Leafs are having some trouble scoring. Where is the sense in giving up one of your best offensive players for a defenseman if you can't score enough goals to win?

Yet Quinn keeps two of the most offensive people in the press box

$1:
Why are skilled players like O'Neill and Czerkawski healthy scratches?

Hmm...Let me think...Could it possibly be because they SUCK right now? O'Neill has 30 points in 51 games, Czerkawski has 5 in 18. Can you recall the hype when they showed up? How's it looking now?

Depends entirely on what they're offered in return. Calgary would love to have a decent centre alongside Iginla, and they're pretty loaded on the blue line. Andrew Ference, anyone?

Czerkawski was benched from day 1. Quinn killed the guys confidence immediately.

O'Neill sucks? Then why is Antropov, Stajan, Ponikarovsky and such still playing? They have more games played and less points.

Kronwall's played 31 games and hasn't even registered a point and is -5!

Well, the thing is, none of the guys you mentioned are leaders by any stretch. O'Neill was supposed to be the go-to guy on offence this season with Mogilny gone, but he's on pace for one of the worst point totals of his career. I'm not saying he isn't one of the better players on the team, but he sure hasn't lived up to expectations.

Same thing with Czerkawski.

Either have many of their players.

Quinn hasn't stuck with lines for any peroid of time, so it's hard for players to gel like they have in Ottawa, for example.

You know it's a sad state when a defencemen, who's missed a handful of games, leads in points.

Lost 6-2 to the Sabres. Yep, Quinn is really making headway with this team. Guess the Habs are the 8th spot Canadian team. Hope Sens whip them again tommorow... :)

Avro Avro:
I am going to enjoy watching this team self destruct in the next 23 games and listen to all the whiny Leaf fans complain and say.....next year man, next year.

When will you idiots figure out that the organization does not have the term "winning" in it's corperate formula nor does it need to. They just sign has beens like Lindros for nothing and watch jersey sales go through the roof.

No playoffs this year Leaf fans...... ROTFL

btw buffalo just creamed them and I will watch tham get clobbered by Ottawa tommorrow.

Let's see......9-1

I don't know, we're hurting without Hasek and Havlat....And last time we met, the score was 4-3 for Ottawa...a very close call, With some of our top players missing, and with Hasek out, I think we could win, but is highly unlikely, unless Toronto completely flip flops this game.....

You are kidding right?

Washington beat Toronto 5-3 on Tuesday and Ottawa beat Washington 7-0 the next night.

It will be the NHL version of what the Canadian women did ti Italy.

I dunno, I'm holding my breath....Washington isn't a hated rival of Toronto....Ottawa is....The leafs are gonna want that game bad....
