He still has great hands and an "incredible sense of hockey". He is not as strong as in 2002, but I believe he deserve to make the team. On a 3rd or a 4th line...

Right, we don't need lemieux in the Olympics,:? I know he is a little old with hip joints out of place but playmaking is his game and is a game he plays very well. As for the Crosby going to Pens, freaking waste. Hope he likes it down there where all the other birds fly the coup.

Streaker Streaker: Pretty sad. Sidney Crosby, Canada's finest... going to Pittsburgh...
Well as long as he is playing in the U.S he is probably ..
Pittsburgh could use him as trade bait<multi player deals>
Just as long as he dosen't get shoved down on the farm.Could end up being a fence post down there

Oh well, at least a high profile team like NY or Detroit didn't get him and especially not Colorado. At least now he can have a legit reason to complain and want the hell out later on.

Who knows if he'll end up in Pittsburgh. They could trade him for 2 or 3 picks from someone else. The NHL wants to see him in a big market so I wouldn't be surprised if that happens.
But he wants to play for the Canadiens so he might choose to go to Europe. He's already been offered $10 million a year to play in Sweden.

Think about it this way: Sidney Crosby is on his way to Pittsburg, to play under Mario Lemieux. Crosby will learn SO much playing with Mario that he will be a better player than any of us ever could have imagined. In other words: Canada's hockey future will be even MORE secure. Plus, this should be good for hockey in Pittsburg. They're going to have a hell of a team this fall, and they have gone from basement dwellers to contenders in no time flat.

I agree. And there is NO WAY a team would trade him. It would be such a lop sided trade. He won't be playing for any farm team either, only if he seemed to be having difficulty playing up.

I could see Sidney needing a little bit of AHL time for a tune up for the pro game. The AHL is a good league, and really helps develop players well.
...No way he'll spend the whole year down there, though. I expect he'll play his first month in the NHL, play in the AHL for a month, and then come back strong.

I think that they said he will play with the Penguins for 7 years, until he becomes a free agent, and then he'll probably go play for the Canadiens in the prime of his hockey career. Seven years, mates, seven more years until the Canadiens come back for another dynasty!

A lot can change in seven years. I doubt Sidney will be so eager to play in Montreal after those seven years. The allure of playing in places like Toronto, Vancouver or Colorado will attract his attention... although I'm sure Montreal will always be a POSSIBILITY... but one of many.

I'll take my reality over yours anyday, because that means that my team wins

I enjoy this speculation! Many Maritimers are Habs fans so it is plausible that Crosby's first choice would be Montreal.

hmm it's a draft lottery... why do you suppose they call it that.. It's a lottery.. vancouver Montreal and Ottawa move up to pretty respectable picks.. Toronto is middle of the pack.. feel soory for edmonton and Calgary though.. getting picks in the mid twenties. At least those Rangers didn't get Crosby.. and they also got hosed by the draft too.. aww too bad. Crosby has a couple of players in pits burgh that he should be able to play with... and a great future goalie in Marc Andre Fluery... Lemieux is smiling though that was nice to see.. he has gone through so much and to finally get rewarded like that was nice to see.. good story. Perhaps maybe now Pittsburgh will build that new building... Crosby should bring some stability to that franchise.. look what happened when lemiuex first got there.. 2009 Stanley cup champions... Your Pittsburgh Penguins..... got a nice ring to it like 1991 and 1992....
