Even before 3-1 in the series, some Leafs fans had skipped the intervening steps and were already taking the Stanley Cup this year. Admittedly, the North American franchise sports league system does have some merit but the Leafs personify the downside. In a European soccer league format, with promotion and relegation, they would have faced serious competition in their backyard decades ago. Instead the league has blocked a new team anywhere near them in Canada, yet another example of socialism for billionaires.

I know... this season has been weird and I haven't paid nearly as much attention to it as I have in the past seasons. We sometimes channel surf and find something else to watch then check back in to a game to see where it's at. At least with the way they had the league's divisions set up we were guaranteed a Canadian team would be in the final 4. LOL. However Montreal deserves the shot at winning the cup this year.

I can't bring myself to cheer for them whatsoever. As far as hockey goes, if my team doesn't make it into the playoffs or gets knocked out of them, I stop watching.

Add to the fact that it's a Quebec based team, and my interest becomes non-existent. I just can't get behind a team from a province that votes separatist. I don't care what anyone thinks, I'm not going to support them.

I'd support the Oilers in the Final before the Habs, and that's saying a lot coming from a Flames fan.
