Brendan Shanahan has joined up with our World Championship squad, who defeated Denmark 5-3 yesterday:

Dion Phaneuf will (unfortunately) not be joining the team, as he will be recovering from a broken foot he played the first round of the playoffs will. Don't expect Jarome Iginla to go, he only plays in the "big" tournaments. Hopefully, the International Grind Line will draw in for Canada, as well.

Also, unfortunately (unless you're an Oilers fan)... no Smytty for Canada, as the perennial captain will be going deep into the playoffs.

The only real tests Canada had was Czech, Auld wanked on that, Finland, won that, and Slovakia, won that. They are a young team and no shame if they lose but frankly, I don't like Habsheid, never have for some reason. I just don't think he can get the job done. Especially since he lost to the Czechs 3-0 last time.

Sweden having a fairly inexperienced team, with the exeptions of the Jönsson brothers, (olympic gold medalists 2006), Ronnie Sundin(olympic gold medalist 2006) and Michael Nylander, will be underdogs at todays game, 19:30 local time. In previous championships, however, Canada has had more of a fysical team. This time around Canadas technical play, wich suits the swedish team exeptionaly well, will be their undoing...

Go Sweden!... and Canada at some extent...
