I just finished blogging on it...its by catholicvote.com, so I'll assume some affinity with Rome. CNN and NBC banned it apparently, which will assure tons of people will see it in all likelihood. Personally I like it...just an ultrasound pic of a baby with subtitles about Barack Obama's life, broken home...abandoned by his father etc, and look what he became (whether you like him or not its powerful).

That's the video.

As a pro life person who gets into debates with my female friends quite often over abortion, this sums up one of the greatest arguments I try to get across.

The Pro Choice side consistently says "why bring a life into a broken home where it will struggle and be abused, etc. etc. etc.???"

Every life, regardless of its circumstances, has potential, and every life, at conception, deserves an equal shot at living it.

I dont know why pro lifers feel this is a relevent argument for not having an abortion. I wish I could make one that was about Hitler, or Jeffery Dahlmer.

If I have to pick a label, then I'm Pro-Choice...but with that being said I'm happiest when Life is chosen over abortion. That's what I like about this ad...apparently it came out in late Jan but I missed it...the message is simple and its exhorting people to choose life. Better a child be born into an accpeting home, as opposed to a mother who didn't want to have him/her in the first place...there's something wrong about a culture that doesn't value children.

You said "every life" not "human life". Still, I don't see what the difference is. Human life is animal life and vice versa. Why be speciesist? If life is sacred, then life is sacred, it shouldn't matter what shape or size it comes in.

Not really, its the same tired argument they have been using for decades. I have heard them try this shtick with Beethoven, Einstein, Ghandi ect.

Basicly take figure A say how his mother, due to social issues of the time, could have been tempted to have an abortion. The same argument for a very evil person could be made, if Bin Ladens mother had aborted him....
