Well, I feel for amyone who suffers from alergies, try this one. Sun exposure. or DSE (Direct Sun Exposure), causing bubble like leisions and rashes to appear on my body when exposed to sunlight, despite using usp 45 sunscreen. Mostley manifests on the back of my neck, shoulders, hands and arms. Cold compresses and benadryl to control the rash, though it only completly clears up with perscribed cortizone creams. It's itchy as F$%k, I wake up at night scratching and end up with scabs on my neck cause I scratch it open. My saving grace is that as the summer goes on my skin gets used to it so by August it's not too bad, but the first months of spring and summer are a pain. My wife suggests tanning in March/April to expose my skin to the uv rays and try to beat it.

Although I don't remember ever having it this bad, I bought some extra strength Reactine and I could breathe and see again in a matter of minutes!

My allergies hit me harder this year too. Though I hate taking medication I had to break down and buy some Reactine (through trial and failure I found this brand to be the only one that works for me). After days of my eyes and nose almost constantly running, not to mention the killer headaches I couldn't take it anymore. That was more than a month ago. I'm tapering off on them, or at least trying to. They're damned expensive.
I've only really had a bad time with allergies for the last 7 years, which coincides with when we bought our townhouse. We used to live in a 3rd floor apartment with no trees, etc close to our balcony. Now in the townhouse we have a beautiful Japanese Maple tree in our backyard, which kills me every year while it's blooming. Now that it's fully bloomed it's not so bad that I can't deal with a bit of sniffles to avoid taking the meds.

I just heard about this 'quick fix' today on the radio. After extensive research, the DR.S involved discovered that for about 80+% of allergy attacks; get into your vehicle and turn on the airconditioning for a short time. Apparently the temp setting is not important, but the severity of the attack will determine how long it will take to begin lessening the effects. Something to do with the particles and some bacteria being filtred out of the air. I only caught the last part of the show so I can't tell you much more than that. Sure hope this helps. I'll be giving it a try come fall when harvest season is in full swing and a lot of dust in the air! ![Drink up [B-o]](./images/smilies/drinkup.gif)

My yard faces south with no trees to block the sun so all day bright sunshine in the back yard. I'll try tanning next year as like I said, it lessens as the summer goes on and my skin gets used to it. In the mean time, just gotta put up with the rash until it cleares up.

You could try to go to a tanning salon too during the winter, and keep used to the UV... Don't know if it works though, I never tried it, I just stay out of the sun...
