IÂ’m wondering what everyoneÂ’s favorite games are and what console you prefer.
I use my PC to game, I like using keyboard/mouse instead of a game controller and PCÂ’s have much better graphics then other consoles.
My favorites:
1. Starwars: Knights Of The Old Republic
2. Day Of Defeat (half-life mod)
3. Age Of Empires
4. Star Trek: Elite Force 1 & 2
5. Splinter Cell
6. Call Of Duty

AdamNF: I agree PC graphics are sooo much better. Splinter Cell on my PC rocked, but on my XBOX, it isn't all that bad.
I had a pretty good system.
AMD XP1800
MSI GeForce 4 Ti 5200 128mb video ram-this card outperformed even the FX chips at the time, except for maybe the FX 5900
2 outside cooling fans-8cm. I did a mod job myself with this. I punched holes in the side of the case, and stuck these fans on the outside of the case. They had guards, one was a scorpion, the other a dragon. One hole was about the height where the processor was and the other where the MSI video card was.
An Enermax 350 watt ps. This had an intake and exhaust fan
256 mb of PC 2100 DDR
Thrustmaster racing wheel and peddles
Microsoft ForceFeedback Pro joystick-for mechwarrior and FS2002
LG burner 32x10x40
Audigy gamer soundcard with a 5.1 sound system
2 Western Digital 80 gb hard drives-7200 rpm
Gigabyte mobo GA-7VAX I believe it was
The mobo fried on me after having it for only 9 months! Well, after plenty of money on upgrades, I had a 200 mhz computer, went to 450, went to 1 ghz and then the xp 1800 chip, countless video cards, diamond multi-media v770 pci, asus 32 mb riva tnt2 m64, geforce 2 mx, geforce 3 ti 200. I must have gone through about $3000 worth of upgrades! When this mobo fried, well that was the straw that broke the camels back! I went and got an XBOX instead and haven't been disappointed. My buddy down the hall from me has an XBOX, Gamecube, and a PS2. He also has a Nintendo Advanced Gameboy for the road. I listed the consoles in the way he likes them from best to so-so.
As for PS2, the hype is in the name. I've seen the graphics on this console, and I wasn't impressed. Sure, lots of games, but without the graphics, might as well go back to Atari!

After playing Age of Empires/Age of Kings for literally thousands of hours, I just bought Age of Mythology yesterday..... there goes another year of my life - LOL!
Got a question, though:
in the learning mode, I have already run across a couple of "artifacts" or something (little gold objects) out in the toolies by themselves. The hint says if you garrison them back in your village, you will gain various things...
How do you "garrison" them?

Games I have recently played for my PS2 and enjoyed in no particular order.
1) The Getaway Similar to the GTA3 and VC but more linear. Start off playing the first 12 missions as gangster Mark then it's back to the begging to play the story through as cop Frank.
2) The Suffering Death row inmate Torque finds himself trapped in a haunted prison/island where the spirits of the dead have risen to take vengeance on the living. Fast action, a dark story line, and impressive creature and level designs make this one of my all time fav's
3) Manhunt Yet another controversal game from Rockstar. Player is James Earl Cash a killer sentenced to death but rescued by a mysterious film director. The director drops Cash in Carcer City and sets gangs of thugs loose to hunt him down, so it can be filmed as snuff. Ultra violent but can be fun none the less
4) Silent Hill 3 Yet another great instalment in the Silent Hill series. Hard to explain the plot especially if you haven't played the first one. Plays alot like the Resident Evil games but with a better story. Silent Hill series is my hands down my favorite game series.
5) Deus Ex: The Conspiracy Playing this right now. Similar to the PC version. Contains references to just about every conspiracy theory out there. The game changes for everyone. No two people will play the same game.

I used to like consoles but have favored PCs for the last 5 years or so. All my picks are PC format, I really need a new computer though!
Jagged Alliance 2:
A Strategy/RPG game were you are hired to lead a team of mercenaries in a bid to free the seedy and overarmed little country of Arulco from dictorial rule. The setting is basically present day and most of the equipment and weaponry {like the C-7 assault rifle for example} is based on the real world. JA:2 was created with a lot of Canadian involvement and has a thriving mod community, which I consider a must.
Operation Flashpoint
Even though it's a few years old this is still the best "realistic" ground combat game around, in many ways this was the game I had been waiting for, the only major stumbles IMO are some control issues and poor multiplay. It has a truly vast mod community.
Total Annihilation
An old, old {1998} Real Time Strategy that pits two robotic civilizations against the other, despite it's age this is still one of the better RTS games around in modded form IMO, in that it actually requires a decent grasp of strategy and is very open ended and mod friendly.
Ones I'm waiting for:
STALKER: Shadows of Chernobyl
This will be the ultimate survival horror if it turns out half as good as the hype.
Operation Flashpoint 2
I have high hopes but it should deliver. I just hope they stay with the Vietnam era though.
Steel Beasts 2
A hardcore tank sim. The original Steel Beasts was developed by a couple of guys on a budget but wound up good enough that the U.S. military bought a version of it for training purposes. The graphics were severely outdated but pretty much everything else about the game is great, SB2 will supposedly see a vast improvement in graphics and everything else.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic: Simply one of the best games I ever played. Right next to TIE Fighter in the storyline.
Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided: Okay, I admit it, i'm a SW fan boy This is my first MMORPG, and I must say it has been a worth while experience. The guys i've been playing with are awsome, on my first day I got a house in our player city, and as soon as I mentioned I was a n00b to someone I have never chated to outside the game, BAM! gave me 50k credits. Hunt's are by far the best thing in this game, It's so fun having a large group of buddies looking for Krayt Dragons Even funner getting owned on the new corvette hunt.
Call Of Duty: One of the best single player games i've ever played. The realism is simply amazing. The battle of Stalingrad actualy feels like the battle of Stalingrad. A very cinematic feel to the game. This game is the very reason of gaming.
Im also playing BF 1942, and the many player made mods for it. Very fun multiplayer game. I am legaly aquiring BF Vietnam as I type this
America's Army simply has the best animation i've seen for a game. When you climb a ladder your hands actualy are on the ladder, and when you come close to the wall you point your gun at the ground, very good collision scripting. I played the FarCry demo, and it looks promising, looking to "aquire" that also

My favourite games of the past year (well, the ones I played the most) have been:
Max Payne 2 - I love this game, I love the original. Hated the ending, but still a great game nonetheless.
Halo - I didn't get addicted to Halo until this past year, and I've been stuck on it ever since
Madden 2005 - Great graphics and game play.
I don't get to play many games because my computer is a peice (it has a hard time running Warcraft III) and I don't own a console, only my friends have.

Splinter Cell, Pandora Tomorrow - XBOX version I have
The original Splinter Cell - PC version I have
Another Century of Flight; otherwise known as FS2004. Very cool game...boring for most IMO, but I'm into aircraft. So, I have a great time. Over 23,000 airports, ATC that directs you during your flight; this is through the program itself. You can ask for an increase in your altitude, ask for a decrease in altitude, air traffic in the air, aircraft taxing out to runways, landing and taxing to gates; several runways that are used by air traffic; and the eye candy is amazing! Sitting on the runway you can see the clouds drift across the sky, and the clouds look pretty life like. With all the aircraft I have installed, the game takes almost 6 gigs of disk space. The aircraft folder itself is almost 3 gig; yep, I'm into this very much, but not as much as others. You can join certain VA groups (Virtual Airline) and have live people as air traffic controllers. There are even flight plans that you can load into the program that people create as close to real flight plans as possible. 800 + airlines that the program recognizes. For instance, if ATC says, "Air Canada, taxi out to runway 32L, using taxiway, Alpha, contact tower on 132.1 when ready." If you do some tweaking to your flight plans, you will see an Air Canada jet taxi out to this runway; or a USAir, American, whatever you wish; but you need to edit your flight plans to do this.
You can download real world weather, and you can also have it update every 15 minutes while in flight if you wish.
Ghost Recon - XBOX and have it for the PC too, but damn thing kept crashing to the desktop. A lot of people were complaining about it, and a lot didn't realize it had nothing to do with anyone's hardware. The internet is there for a reason, but I guess some just don't want to bother digging around. I found the patch for the game, and it ran without a hitch.
Well, I'm off for a flight.
