Playing multi-player FPS games with vehicles in them usually leaves a bad taste in my mouth. What usually happens is a couple of guys grab the coolest plane/helo/tank and rack up huge kill totals by killing everyone else (who are forced to play as infantry). it's even worse if those losers linger around spawn areas.

Still, I have to admit it sure looks awesome.

I've dealt with the chopper whores in BF:BC2 by using the Engineer kit with the rocket launcher and then camping near the enemy main. When the pilot gets in the chopper I fire a tracer dart at it and then after it leaves the base I shoot it down.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

After a couple shoot downs they get bored and move on.

Worst case scenario is I steal the enemy chopper and bring it back to my base where I park it for 5-10 minutes. Usually that's long enough that the chopper whore exits the game and moves to another server.

If you're an admin, of course, you just kick the chopper whore.

Yep, tracer dart the bitch and it'll be a goner in a heartbeat. Mix with AAA and a guy handy with an AT-4 and watch the fireworks.

I have never played a game with choppers or planes, just tanks/IFV (SOCOM series) and those were mostly just you take them so the other guys didn't get them.

no... anyone who pre-ordered BF3 from EA got early beta access. Anyone who pre-ordered gets access today. I've been playing for days.

This is nothing new, this has been the case since 2005 with Battlefield and almost every other FPS game.


I had been trying all day yesterday to get on a Caspian Border server. The open beta is supposed to be only the "Metro" infantry only map. There are a bunch of private serere playing Caspian Border though. But the servers were always full or passwords kept changing. But I got on a Caspian Border 64 player server with the password "videokilledtheradiostar".

It was sweet, much more BF'ier gameplay. I played for over an hour, never crashed once.. never fell through ground once, had no major glitch. I always have massive glitces on the Metro map. It is beta though.

Here is some fraps video I recorded. My video settings are on low (waiting for new video card I ordered) and my framerate while recording is very bad. But get to see some some tanks, jets and hellos.

Been playing the open beta since Tuesday. Don't care for rush, but for the beta, meh. They got some stuff to work out. Hit detection still sucks, weapon recoil is good. Prone is got all the COD campers all horny, but the down side is the scope reflection. Reviving takes effort. All in all, not bad. Definately going to put a stop to a lot of run and gun. Fire and Movement will be key. Multiple spawn choice is nice. The team join is still buggy. Movement is cool.

There's other stuff, but it is beta. Overall, I like.

Dr: I look at it as a reward for suffering through MoH and owning a PS3. Lol.

The flashlight needs to GO!!!
How the FRACK can you blind me with a flashlight in the middle of the day with the sun shinning bringht. I'm mean really, unless I put the flashlight right up against my eyeball. Plus my toon is wearing sunglasses! In the dark or a tunnel ok.
Not only do you have to worry about being blinded by the enemy, your own team mates blind you when then run around with thier flashlights on all the time.

I think they should to do like Doom 3 where the flashlight only has a 30-45 second charge then turns off to re-charge for about a minute.

Yeah I know people will say that thats no realistic, but running around with your flashlight on all the time (especially durning the day) is not realistic either, nor is getting blinded by it at 40' outside in broad daylight, or a sniper using a flashlight, I mean a SNIPER! really. Your a sniper and are supposed to be concealed.
