I think Halifax would be the only city that might be able to support a team...I'd go with the Halifax highlanders or Mariners.

They could call them the boatmen just to piss Toronto off ;)

Mind you I would really like to see Ottawa get their team back to balance out the East. Maybe we could get Halifax and Ottawa and give Toronto to the West? lol

Scape Scape:
Halifax RoughRiders

Dude, that is too confusing when you figure in Ottawa. You have to name them something different. How about the Halifax Rough-Riderz?

I think the CFL is going to try to leverage Moncton into getting Halifax to pony up the dough on a new stadium. See how many years Halifax is going to put up with a CFL regular season game in Moncton and not Halifax. Local government will get voted out and a stadium will be built in 10 years.

How about the Halifax Penny Pinchers?

I kind of feel bad for Moncton as they will probably get used by the CFL, but I think they get that. Why else would they only build a stadium that EXPANDS to like 18K? Having an occasional/semi-annual CFL game is really the best a city of 126K SHOULD anticipate. Really if they end up getting 1 CFL game a year, Lots of concerts, the championship thing the stadium was built for, and say U Moncton starts playing football in this 8K (permanent seated capacity) stadium, Moncton has IMO, hit a homerun with the stadium.

The problem about Halifax is the hurricane season, minor maybe, but if one should hit like it did in New Orlean, it can be very costly.

300,000 people live in Halifax, to fill a stadium would have to draw 30 to 40 thousand. On any given game day.

Tickets would be 40 to 75.00$ ..... or maybe more!!!!

WOULD A TEAM GET THE BACKING? A Study and it would need approval.... Where in Halifax is there a stadium? Does Halifax have a Stadium large enough?

Anyways, here's a study for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers new Stadium

You would need to see some pretty unique conditions for a Cat 5 to hit Halifax. No we don't have one that large to my knowledge...stadium that is.

Where did they just play the Summer games?

Halifax Whitefish. Have a logo of a fisherman that has a whitefish impaled on a really large fork, about to eat it. Put a Maple Leaf in the background. Heh.
