Saskatchewan wins it 31-24, and at the same time the Lions put down the Stamps 29-27....good news all around, even if it's nothing but the preseason..... :D

I listened to the lions on the radio. This new runback kid Korey Williams sounds like he's going to be fun to watch. Hope they have the highlights tonight on the sports shows.

The replacement kicker looked good. He won't have any problems filling in when, or maybe if, McCallum ever decides to retire.

I have a bitch though. Why wasn't this game televised here in BC. It was played in Calgary. Don't they have cameras out there? Why were they airing Edmonton playing Saskatchewan in Vancouver when the Lions are playing out of town. The lions do this all the time. They don't build up their audience with TV. They miss interesting games. It's irritating.

It was nice to see the Riders pull off the win. Still a lot of improvements need to be made. Our ground game still sucks and all those penalties we took ate up valuable yards. Really liked what I saw of Sunseri - one of our back-up QBs. Also liked Brody McKnight when he came in to replace Chris Milo - kids got a good leg. The D got some good sacks and were able to put pressure on the Esk's QBs. Not great to see Rob Baggs drop his first catch - didn't get called after that - seems he still has dropsy problems - not a worry with all the receivers waiting in line to take his place though. Glad it was just pre-season and the team still has time to work out the kinks. Rock on Riders.

The one thing I noticed watching the Riders game was that as soon as Durant went in the playbook seemed to predictable. 1st and 10..On the ground for a short gain, Second and whatever in the air. Give the guy some leeway.

Can't wait to see how the new coach, Dan Hawkins fits in.
Playing in the Bombers new stadium too.

I wonder how Calvillo will hold up this year... he'll have to retire one day. :(

Mainly because Winnipeg is playing in their new stadium for the first time, I'm hoping for a Bombers win.

Good, close game... the Als and their new coach get the win but spoil the Bombers opener at the new stadium.

Has the CFL been hyper sensitive about concusions like the NFL has for the last couple of years? If so how have they attempted to lesson the chances of one happening?

Really enjoyed the game........lots of upsets, turn-overs and great pass receptions. Glad to see Buck make it all the way through a game and stay healthy. Great new stadium for the Bombers. Was pulling for the Blue and Gold but the Als obviously had other ideas - nice win for their rookie coach. Great start to the season.

Hits aren't as big in the CFL. These guys are playing for `$60,000.00 / year and sell real estate or fight fire in the off season.

They aren't going to risk injury as often as the guys playing for millions.

I don't think that's necessarily true, CFL has alot more open-field hits and the player are all playing as hard as the can.

Quick google finds articles on CFL concussions below:
