Getting back to the way he used to play. That's what made him dangerous. He didn't run at all this season, even when sheets was hurt.
He said in an interview that he was studying tape of Anthony Calvillo in the off season... ...that's great and everything, but it's nice to see him get back to original Durant style quaterbacking!
Maybe that was the plan all along, get everybody zeroed in on sheets then get Durant into the running game.

IIRC he got his bell rung pretty good a couple of times in the 2010 or 2011 season and seemed a little gun-shy after that. Then he had a hip injury that slowed him down.
I remember him saying (I believe in 2012) that as a quarterback gets older, they can't rely on their legs like they used to. So if you want to mature and become a long-lasting veteran like Calvillo or Damon Allen, then you need to resist the temptation to run under pressure and have the discipline to wait for the passing play to develop. Not sure how much of that statement is how he truely feels and how much is BS excuse, probably a bit of both. He is certainly no stranger to complaints that he doesn't run as much as he used to.
