$1: I'm surprised the Bloc lost seats and votes. However, I'm happy the Bloc took a few seats in Montréal, especially Papineau. Finally Pettigrew (pretty much like that rat in Harry Potter) can shut up for good. I'm amazed the Bloc took Gatineau, now the separatists have to be very happy to have a MP of their own looking at the Parliament Hill acrossing the river.
I find it a little distrubing that the Liberals and NDP were shut out in Alberta. When the province will give other party a chance after decades under Conservative rule, hell would freeze first...
Well Well Well, looks like while the bloc got 68% of the seats in Quebec the the Conservatives got 85% of the seats in the Praries. So much for Quebec soliderity.

Well it is a mixed bag for me I wanted the Cons for military reasons and the Libs for civie reasons but over all I am happy with the turn out the 12 run for the Libs is over, and we can now try the devil we don't know for a change.
Considering that the Libs held about 75% of the parliment for the last century, lets see how the Cons do as it is not a Majority this should make things even more interesting.

I have to say say that I am very happy with the results. The liberals will let PMSH babble on, while not really being able to do anything. This should give them enough time to elect a new leader and shake the whole scandle image that the cons have created for them. Harper's lack of governing experience may drive the country down a bit, but the three opposition parties have the power to pull the plug on him whenever it best suits their needs. Many Canadians need to be reminded of how good they have had it anyways, you don't miss it until it's gone.

If I were you which thankfully I'm not, then I would go and find out what a plus sign means.

No...... like Sigma, positive, (+ve), opposite to negative.
Negative (-ve) opinions like negative pressure carry little weight and tend to float away on the night air. You know like negative buoyancy devices such as hot air balloons.

Well, I'm not going to argue that point with an expert on hot air such as yourself, however, I can't think of anything more positive than the opportunity for the liberals to regroup and strengthen at the expense of conservative folly.

After the windstorm of Liberal folly, anyone else's folly will seem tame and minor by comparison.

If the conservatives seem tame, it's only because the electorate has kept them on a very short leash. They will not be able to push anything remotely risky through in the house, their deeds will be limited to the realm of mediocrity. If it's a conservative government Canadians wanted, that's exactly what they will have, so conservative that they will not be able to wipe their asses without say so.

Your Thoughts of the Election Results
Dissapointed that the Greens didn't get a seat....boooooo.....although they did get more votes over all so thats good......until next time.
I'm quite happy that the Bloc lost a couple seat and a good chunk of popular vote.
Overall quite happy with the way things turned out.......Libs are out....Harpers on a short leash.....the Bloc can piss up a rope......surprisingly I found myself hoping Jack and the NDP would get enough seats to hold the balance.....my reasoning being that they would be good a keeping the Cons in check.
Anyhow...... here's the future of Canada......I think we'll be ok! That's one smart kid.

Is this supposed to mean something Hwacker? If I had a government job and the cons got in, I'd be looking for other work too. The cons have been critical of the office and it makes sense that no one wants to work for Harper.
