You can have your rhetoric about what is right or wrong,
Or who should and who should not lead this nation of ours.
But has anyone asked the fundamental question?
Throw the statistics out the door.
Take your bias out of the equation.
We are Canadian, proud and true,
Do we really have a voice?
The democratic process is not solely built on legalities and politics, but based off the sweat and blood of us all.
I don’t know what the right answer here is, and regrettably, neither do you.
But we have to agree on a fundamental principle, one that is true to all of us...
Did anyone ask us?
I work day in and day out like every one else,
Pay my taxes and every once and awhile hope my opinion counts.
Can I retort your arguments better then another?
Perhaps not, but I know this...
Give me a voice and I will sound clear,
Present my children with options and I will work to see it through,
Consider those who have brought me here, and my respect you will have.
But take my voice away,
Collation or not, and you have forsaken me.
Be a Canadian, let them know this is wrong,
We vote,
Simple as that.
Let all our voices be heard!
