I'll throw it out there that this guy is intelligent enough to know if he has a sleep disorder and I'll also throw it out that he is politically astute enough to admit it in order to not come off looking like a complete shit pump.
The vast majority of people who have some degree or another of sleep apnea is far higher than those who have been diagnosed. A lot of men in positions of power often DON'T seek medical attention regularly and thus attribute their tiredness to the long hours they work. The process to being diagnosed is long, involving a doctors recommendation for a sleep study to be performed with a follow-up 3-6 months later. The degree of apnea can mean doing things as simple as using a mouthpiece to keep the airway open to using a CPAP machine which forces air into the lungs during sleep.
The sleep study itself is not easy, picture being wired up like Frankensteins monster, plus air tubes, plus tension straps on the legs and just try to sleep! And if you do manage to sleep the attendant will come wake you to try some other application to help! I had to undergo 4 of these tests over a 2 year period until we found the ideal treatment.
Nowadays I feel great, quit smoking, exercise more and the only time I fall asleep is if I'm watching a political show and a member of the NDP is talking!

Yep, I get that.
Still, the guy knee jerked into denial then followed it up with head-up-ass accusations that made him come off looking like a shit pump. He could have claimed he has sleep issues, or he could have claimed he is looking into seeing if he has sleep issues because that's more politically intelligent than suggesting the vets lied, were NDP hacks, and Putin lovers.
