IceOwl IceOwl:
Where did I say they didn't mind going to prison?

You said prison wasn't a deterrant. Make up your mind, is it or isn't it?

$1:
Wow, look at that, I pegged it again. Not only are you for exterminating the mentally ill, but the poor as well.

The poor and unemployed (such as yourself) have no place in my neighborhood. If they showed up they would be quickly whisked away by the local boys in blue.

$1:
As soon as you give me $2400.

Wow I guess that means you'll never get a job... who knew? :D

If I'm wasting my time, I'll expect that you're willing to reimburse my tuition

Not that it matters, but how does saying you're wasting your time, or jobless, result in being responsible for paying for your tuition?

But the bad news is...
January 24, 2006

Its January and people in Calgary are wearing t-shirts and shorts. Yes, this is what the weather will be like under a Stephen Harper government.

Today I did interviews. I started with an interview at 6:35 a.m., and finished with an interview at 4:15 p.m. In between I went to Calgary and did four TV interviews and another ten or so print and radio interviews.

I did an interview today with the Prairie Post. I also did an interview with the Washington Post. I did an interview with the CBC. I also did an interview with the BBC.

I also got a buzillion emails today. I received many congratulatory emails from old friends, which I appreciate. I also received many nice emails from people who want to be my friend (Isn't it neat how those strangers care so much about me!)

But it's not all good. Sure yesterday we won the election. Apparently that used to be a good thing. But then today I heard that our election win was actually a terrible election disaster because we didn't win any seats in Toronto, Vancouver or Montreal. How could I have been so blind?

If only we could have been as successful as the Liberals. I mean they won seats where it really counts. What I would give to have come second like my Liberal friends. You see its not the quantity of seats, its the quality.

Sure its nice to win seats in places like Ottawa, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg or Quebec City. Its even okay I guess to win every seat in Alberta, but if you aren't in TO and Van and Montreal what's the point?

But then it occured to me. We don't have to do anything for the big three. You see they have had ALL Liberal representation for the last twelve years so they don't have any problems.

I haven't asked lately but I'm sure that Toronto waterfront thing is coming along great. I mean they announced it so many years ago now, and it was a Liberal government and it was all Liberal MPs in Toronto so therefore it must be a huge success. I mean that's how you get things done for TO!

I can hardly wait to jump on that high speed train that must now go from Pearson to downtown and then stay at one of those glorious new hotels on the beautiful boardwalk that almost certainly now skirts Lake Ontario. I saw the artists conceptions. Wow. That must be cool to have all that new infrastructure because of all of those Liberal government MPs.

Okay. Let me be straight with you. Just now I was being sarcastic. No, I'm not proud of that.

You see there is no new waterfront development eventhough Toronto has about 50 Liberal MPs per square inch. There is also no new infrastructure. There is no new train. There is no new anything.

Apparently however it is a disaster if these big cities don't have government MPs because then they won't get their problems addressed. Oh...right...okay. Gotcha. Now that's a compelling argument.

Anywho. Eventhough our election win is the worst electoral loss in Canadian history because of the big city thing we will try to carry our heads high. We may even try in our own bumpkin way to help the big cities. Certainly we could never hope to replicate the sophisticated, subtle and imperceptible way that all of those hip city Liberals MPs have propelled Toronto forward with that stunningly beautiful and imaginary waterfront project.

I mean considering that we lost the election how can we help? But we will help eventhough we technically can't help because of the overwhelming Liberal victory. That's the way we are though. Always sticking our yokel noses in city business, even though Prime Minister Ignatieff won that crushing victory yesterday.

The torries did win seats in the GTA, metropolitan Toronto, Vancouver adn Montreal are not the center of Canada. Not politically, not ecconomicaly, not socialy. That is perhaps the biggest lesson to be learned by this election.

Harper may expose Liberals' skeletons

Jan. 27, 2006. 01:00 AM
BRUCE CAMPION-SMITH
OTTAWA BUREAU

OTTAWA—Stephen Harper is promising to pull back the curtain on yet more misspending by the outgoing government.

In his first news conference since winning Monday's election, Harper said he intends to make good on campaign pledges to open up government and launch legal action to recoup the $40 million he claims is still missing in the Liberal sponsorship scandal.

And he suggested that David Dingwall, the former Liberal cabinet minister who resigned as head of the Royal Canadian Mint, may be out of luck in his bid to get severance.

Dingwall quit his $277,000-a-year post in September after questions were raised about his expenses. He later told a Commons committee he was "entitled to his entitlements," including severance — a line that became the centrepiece of a Conservative campaign ad.

"We have never favoured paying a severance package to someone who voluntarily resigns. That's our understanding of the situation," Harper told reporters yesterday. "I'm going to be interested to see, when I get full briefings ... exactly what the legal situation is with regard to any negotiations with Mr. Dingwall."

The question for any new government is always how much to reveal of any skeletons found in the closet of the previous government.

And yesterday, Harper sounded like he was ready to throw the door wide open, starting with his promised accountability act.

That measure includes extending the Access to Information Act to cover all Crown corporations, Officers of Parliament, foundations and organizations that spend taxpayers' money, opening yet more of the government to greater scrutiny.

"There were a number of commitments in our platform and before the campaign to much further open up access to information. We're going to adopt those recommendations," said Harper, who'll take over as prime minister on Feb. 6.

He also signalled he would likely follow through on a vow to sue the Liberals to recover misspent sponsorship funds. The Liberal party has repaid $1.14 million to the government, but Harper has said up to $40 million remains unaccounted for.

"I've indicated in the past ... we intend to draw to the attention of the appropriate authorities the necessity of trying to recover the missing money," he said yesterday.

Harper also promised during the election that a Conservative government would launch an inquiry into federal spending on partisan public opinion polls.

While all this could add up to a heap of trouble for the Liberals, the Conservatives have little to gain from "picking" old fights with their political rivals, cautioned Nelson Wiseman, a political scientist at the University of Toronto.

"It wears off after a while... Piling on is a penalty in football and politics," he said yesterday.

I've already paid my tuition. If that asshole thinks I'm wasting my time with school, he can owe me the money I've apparently wasted.

Fuck you're a whiner. That's almost as pathetic as when you said there was no point in trying to be successful, as then you might end up like me or someone like me, and that would be a fate worse than death.

You know what's a fate worse than death Iceowl? Taking the fucking bus everywhere!

Looks like Harper has come to the realization that he has no clue how to run a country, he does however, have a lot of experience in trying to trash people.

Hey Harper!!! Wake the fuck up!!! The election is over!!!

I don't have any problem with taking the bus, with the exception that Ottawa has the most expensive public transit in Canada.

So tell me Napolean Dynamite, I mean Iceowl...
