Coalition or not, there are some interesting issues here. The balance of power matters more in the final few hours of counting than it did in the first few. Refining the exact number of seats will tell us who the Conservatives will have to cater to in order to get things through parliament. Will it be the NDP? The Bloc? Which party gets the swing vote?

A conservative minority could prove either REALLY good or REALLY bad for our country, depending on Harper's ability to hash things out with the other parties. Worst case scenario: we end up voting again sometime soon. I'd like to avoid that personally.

SEE!! SEE!! If the GG was electet it would be a conservative and with a conservative Parlement could ensure no more elctions in 18 months or need for coalitions. The NDP wouldn't be able to rule as with a small # of seats.

Lib's in opposition with over 100 seats and a 15-20 spread between them and Harper with the NDP at 30 and Bloc with 50. Harper may wish he hadn't won.

It reflects that the only truly strong and majority representation that Canada can have would be the same Lib-CPC coalition that we needed years ago. Why should the Libs do it given that the cons wouldn't bother though?
