Keep those Ralph-bucks rollin!

Here's the skinny on what's typed on the back of the cheque.

Dear Albertan:enclosed is your Alberta 2005 resource rebate.
This $400.00/ person rebate by the government of Alberta as a non taxable, one time bonus to all Albertans in recognition of their role in building this province.Funds for this rebate are from part of this years provincial surplus, the rest of which will be saved or invested to build Alberta's future.

Congratulations and thank you for helping build this province.

From,

Premier Ralph Klein.

I tell ya,there's a tear in my eye right now. :o The "non taxable" part has piqued my interest.

The banks in Calgary ran out of 20's yesterday. Too funny!

But the best part is there's a Calgarian running the country now. 8O

Never lived in Alberta for two good reasons, my sister and her husband, so I don't qualify. I don't pay income tax here and I get all my sales tax rebated, so that is a big enough gift for me. Did every man woman and child residing in Alberta get a cheque? Hutterites would make a killing. 8O.

Only provinces I've lived in (BC and Manitoba) wouldn't be able to swing that.

Every Albertan,if you got 10 kids you got a good size cheque.

I love it! It's not the thought of getting free money but the thought that you get rewarded for helping make the province a go and bucking up to the feds. I really feel like I made a difference now. I'm smilin bud.

Actually he was born and grew up in T.O just as you are from Ontario and aren't truly an Albertan.

I think when the reality of harpers minority gov't and what he must do in order to enact any policies it may be you who is distressed.

Odd how you assume Klein's word is worth squat too.

Who would you rather trust?
A promise from Martin?
Or a promise from Klien?

PostPosted: Sun Jan 29, 2006 12:26 am

lily lily:
Depends which Martin you're referring to. ;)

Nice dodge.

Since I know you aren't stupid or uninformed about CDN politics, I will assume you are simply bragging for the sake of bragging.

Harper has less seats then martin in the last election and no friends in parliment. He won't pass anything unless he gets support and that will mean giving concessions to someone and there goes his plans.

You didn't win, you only think you have.
