Choban Choban: I'm 100% sure this letter accomplished nothing at all. A hair less than what's getting accomplished in this thread.

Zipperfish Zipperfish: OK, OnTheIce, this is the kind of unbiased, neutral discussion that you should be posting, as opposed to your partisan hackery. Note that the writer, though in some aspects criticizing Harper, also commends him for his "excellent campaign" and "boldness." This is just the kind of balanced analysis we need more of. Why aren't you giving our buddy Curt here a hard time, or do you just restrict that to those who support the CPC? ![Drink up [B-o]](./images/smilies/drinkup.gif)

Secretly you were laughing every time he posted political partisan stuff.

I'd bet good money that not one important person in all of history ever bothered to read an open letter to themselves.

Curt has gotten hell here, and still gets it once in a while. My opinion... the CKA Libs have gotten way more than the Cons in the last few years. ...we're just trying to even things up with you. ![Drink up [B-o]](./images/smilies/drinkup.gif)

jeff744 jeff744: Regina Regina: Another internet Einstein who feels he is somehow relevant. So what you suggest is that we all lie back, do nothing and let the politicians do all the convincing? Nice way to encourage people to fight the lowest voter turnouts ever. Fight? You can fight by voting. Being a little naive poppas ass who's best work was getting the name and address right then spreading it around is hardly fighting. He'll be embarrassed in 20 years when he reads it again.

Or do we need to put some kind of age restriction on voicing an opinion. You are discrediting him for doing exactly the right type of way to spread a message, humour.

That's how you make effective change. Considering we've weather the financial world collapse better than most other countries he should STFU when it comes to his tax and stimulus opinions as well. Writing a wordy but simplistic letter to the PM is a waste of time and would only make most dig in their heels with support. His time could have been better spent praising the PM's competition. At first I thought this was some pampas kid but it turns out he's actually a pampas fictional writer................he should stick to that. He should still vote, but he should stick to that.

So you are saying that because of policies Harper did not implement he should just be thankful and let Harper do as he pleases? Or are you saying that we should just leave everything in the hands of politicians to talk about and just leave us to listen. Praising does little, I could praise the game makers on a mechanic and they will know to keep doing it but if I don't criticize anything then they don't know what to fix. Your lie back and take it approach results in nothing happening, it just lets the politicians think that we don't have an opinion and they can do whatever the hell they want. 'pampas kids' are one of, if not the largest reforming groups in the world, don't write us off just because we are young, a lot of us have hell of a lot of better ideas than adults.

martin14 martin14: $1: Panelists included Josh Levs, a CNN media correspondent and social media analyst, along with Carrie Wickham, associate professor of political science, and Michael Amerhom Youssef, pastor and founding rector of Atlanta’s Church of The Apostles. The three speakers commented on how the youth-driven protests in Egypt marks a distinct break from the older generations of Egyptians. http://www.emorywheel.com/detail.php?n=29325Oh...let's not forget Stonewall, lots of young people there. Gotta just love how older generations look down on the younger ones despite having once hated it themselves, their memories forget all the reform they once brought and refuse to let the young bring their own reform.
