bootlegga bootlegga:
The thing that surprised me most was that the BQ lost seats! I don't think anyone predicted that. The Cons did even better than I expected too. I figured they pick up a seat or three, but 10?

Like I said, Harper maneged to gain the Soft Nationalist vote, or at least part of it. He made promises to us, and we are voting for him on specifc promises made to Québec (Fiscal Imbalance, Québec Seat on Internationnal Forums, Respect of Provincial Juristictions). He better hold does promises, failure to do so will, without any doubt wipe the conservatives off the Québec map for a long time. You can, compare this to Mulroney and his attempt to bring Québec into the constution. He failed, and his party lost support from Québec up until now.

Yep very interesting ! I was predicting 6 or 7.
At last we see some nationalist Quebecers are not that stupid and hope the best for their province and nation!
Conservatives ousted 9 Bloq MP and André Arthur, the independant, did the same. André Arthur got a lot of the conservative vote, without him it would have been 11 seats.

Some seats the bloq took were only gained because of the federalist vote split. That's very reassuring for our future ! Let's see how things go now about national unity ! A big blow for the separatist movement.

I don't see it as a big blow. I see it as giving a chance to the runner(Donner une chance au coureur), if Harper can deliver on his promises, then expect the Souvrainté Movement to loose ALOT of wind. If he doesnt, then expect a succesful referendum in the futur.

The bloc, only positive I can see is they won Gatineau. Alot of people though, didnt vote for them that usually do. Myself included, mostly voted conversative. Decentralisation is the talk of us soft Nationalist, and if he delivers, expect Conservative support to grow alot more.

Alot of federal government workers live in Gatineau, so much for swearing an oath to your country.... LMFAO some of the people that are working for Canada vote for a party that wants to break it up.

Fucked up shit, eh? :x

Yup,

I have a feeling Harper would of came through if his French was better, but then my oral french is 50 x better than his and Im not bilingual enough to sort mail for Canada so depends what type of crack your smoking I suppose...

I wonder if Bloc MP's were required like all public servants have to swear an Oath to Canada when they were hired and given awesome salaries by Canadian tax payers.

What is Boisclaire going to do now? Quick referendum still in the works? Or is he going to listen to Quebecers and give harper a chance, he has some tough decisions to make.

Like Duceppe, I think they will give Harper a chance.

I have yet to hear anything from Gilles Duceppe, is he still reeling from the blow of the results?

He gave his speach last night like the other leaders. He accepted the result and congradulated the other parties. He said he would support the Conservative, when they bring their promises to Québec into parlement hill.

I believe Harper is honest and wants to do what he promised, but my only concern is that its a minority win. And has to work with parties like the Liberals and the NDP,... Im pretty sure the bloc will support him on most of the promises. This may of course go against Boisclaires plans for a quick refendum.

So in a sense this will be the litmus test for the Bloc they have the chance to dispel the myth that the Bloc isn't always vote for separation but a vote for Quebecers.

One thing that has me concerned as out of touch the the Liberals and NDP are they might try disolve parliment and call an election if Harper even farts the wrong way. If they dont give harper a chance and they do this too soon this is a sign that things are seriously fucked up in this country.

The it would time for me to pack my shit up and get the fuck out of this sinking ship called the titanic.

I.E.
I tore cartilidge in my knee sunday night, the waiting list for surgery to get it corrected is 6 months. I will be in discomort and mild pain for 6 months,
what am I living in fucking russia?

Well, unlike what alot of people think, the bloc are there FOR Québécois, all of us. Even does that didnt vote for them. The bloc doesnt want another election soon, its the first time a Federal Party in power is talking about respect of Provincial powers. The bloc will help Harper as long as its in our intrest. They've always done that, and will continue to do so. Duceppe is a very honest man, and he said he would work for Québec, and any measure that improves the situation of Québec City, he will support.

And as long as Harper continues to have Bloc support, we won't be going into an Election.
