Elvis Elvis:
Virgil the problem is that Quebec is already on the internationnal stage and it has been that way for year. And every time it as done so it was alway a fight with Ottawa. And like it or not Harper can't back down on his promisse the consequence would be to great....

Yes I agree, to revoke it, at least now would probably intice Quebecois to seperate and give Harper the same image he was trying to give Martin, that of a liar.

Elvis,
I'd hate to mention it, (because, as you know, I think separation is silly, and international representation is an insult to the rest of Canada), but...
An example you should take advantage of is the Ukraine. During the whole post-war Soviet period, the Ukraine had its own U.N. delegation, (as did, I think, Belorus).
Most people have felt that having the two represented in the U.N. was just a way to give the Soviets three votes in everything, since they were so much outnumbered by other countries, (though why three votes would have helped any more than one, I don't know).
Still, the Ukraine still had a U.N. delegation of its own.
I think it would all depend on whether Quebec agreed with Canada on such issues.
In any case I'm in favor of political unity. Not to be confused wiht centralization because I don't know exactly how to say it. I think that if Canada goes to war, Quebec goes to war, because Quebec is a part of Canada.
