when people outside of southern ontario think of it, they think of self absorbed assholes and you proved them right.
Dont mix up us good redneck "Bertans" with the gorby's from Banff that would rather scare away a griz with a bear bell then a 7 mm.

LOL - Never used wikipedia as a source.....it is basically just webhosting for anyone who wants to post anything they want...

And wherever "rule of thumb" comes from doesn't matter, the fact is that traditionally it was acceptable to beat your wife......like 50 years ago or whatever
Wikipedia is just the one I used, every page that came up said the same thing. My point is don't try to pass lies off as truth to win an argument.

First of all, I didn't realize anyone was argueing, I just decided to say what the term "traditional values" means to me.

Second, the "rule of thumb" thing is irrelevant to my post because I was commenting on how men used to traditionally treat women, not focusing on traditional sayings of yore.....

Third, stop trying to pick a fight where there isn't one. You'll be happier and you won't give yourself an ulcer and die from a bleeding stomach caused by stress.....

Fourth, go swing your bell and dance a merry tune.

I have no worries now, since there's a government change coming. I may indeed be dancing come monday night.

Hopefully one day you'll get to that happy special place where your emotional well-being doesn't depend on what government is in power....

Well most easterners hate Alberta

Why do so many of them move out west then?

I don't know anyone that hates Alberta and god knows I have enough friends that went west. It is not that folks from the east ( and I will make my standard point here....ONTARIO IS NOT IN THE EAST ) hate Alberta, it is that we love our home. How would Albertans feel if they had to leave there to live a better life? Oh Wait...lets ask my dad's generation, you see many of them moved east in the dirty 30s to find work during the depression and dust bowl.

Got run out of that town a couple times....police escort to the border/boundary sort a thing. They even impounded our car so we stole it back.
Dont come back now ya hear?

Ahhhh,good times,good times.

One thing for sure, their jail sucked,Watertons was much better as you only had to share a cell with 20 natives from Babb Montana. That was preferable to a couple of drunken japanese tourists in Banff anyday.

Its possible that the law hasn't changed that If you are kicked out of Banff by the RCMP they would have to provide you with a horse and buggy and week supply of food and ammo . Of course thats not true but I'm going to check into if they left that as sort of a novelty law . :) Yes good times but it was kind of blurr now I just go there every summer camping with the wife and kids . I do the round trip of Banff , Lake louise , Takakawa Falls (kicking Horse/Field)
