It looks like the NDP are on pace to form the next government. Is it going to be a good or bad change?

The first thing I remember Mulcair doing when he took leadership was to fly over the oilsands and bitch about it's emissions. From his airplane!

Harper I had high hopes for. Jack Layton, I could have respected. Mulcair, not a chance.

On the Environment, Mulcair has promised:

-Would cancel subsidies to fossil fuel companies.
-Pledge to restore the Eco-Energy retrofit program.
-Would adopt the Climate Change Accountability Act to meet greenhouse gas reduction targets.
-Would create a cap and trade system for the biggest corporate polluters.
-Would create a national public transit strategy.
-Would invest in renewable energy industries and programs.

This would leave Ontario with a double cap and trade system.

It'll be the biggest and farthest reaching disaster in all of Canadian electoral history. It'll take the insane politics and general thought processes of Quebec and force it onto every corner of the country.

It would leave Alberta and BC with parallel systems too. BC has Cap and Trade, Alberta has a Carbon tax.

And none of the provinces would drop those systems either because they wouldn't want to take the revenue hit. Ah well, all it means is that in the 2019 we'd end up with the Conservatives again or the return of a centrist Liberal government. The wreckage the Quebec-supremacists that control the current federal NDP would be so deep in nature that they'll be knocked back again to third-party status with about 20 MP's total, which is exactly the place they should be in right now. All the Conservatives or Liberals would have to do will to simply say "we're going to reverse/overturn/abolish every single thing the NDP will install" and they've both got a winning platform right there.

BC doesn't have Cap & Trade, it has a flat Carbon Tax.
And it will be such a disaster people will whine for a while and then deal with it.
Yeah, we're goddam ready for the NDP. We've had 30 years of this bullshit conservative economic policy that doesn't work and sure doesn't benefit the avarage person at all.

How will the NDP benefit the 'average person'?

Why did they call it "Cap and Trade"?? [huh]

Or did they amend that, and I'm not finding it? (I blame it on Monday)

One can hope a federal NDP would create the thing that has happened provincially when NDP governments are brought in. It happened in BC. It looks like it's happening now in Alberta.

We do or did the dumb thing. We suffer. We survive. We vow never to do it again.

Hopefully the "surviving" part works this time too.

Incorrect. It hasn't been released because it hasn't been written yet.

And the provincial NDP are a different beast that the Federales, just as the Provincial Progressive Conservatives were to their counterparts.
