Looks like Mark Garneau and Justin Trudeau are high on the list of contenders to lead the Liberal party.
Nice guys but i'm a bit fed up with representatives from Quebec running Canada.
I guess after 45yrs of living in Quebec and watching the demise of the Anglo Canadian culture by malcontented Francophones who hate English and hate Canada i've now become somewhat of an anti Francophone who would love to see Quebec booted out of our country.Electing more French politicians to run our country is not the way.
I'd like to include the Francophones in the "Our Country" but they dont like Anglos or Canada and only seem to be in it for the money Ottawa gives them.

Not agreeing with you here (your tarring of all French Canadians with the same brush is more than a little extreme).

That being said, the last Liberal PM not from Quebec, ignoring the few months long anomaly of John Turner, was Lester B Pearson. Trudeau, Chrétien, and Martin were all Quebec MP's. Steven Harper was the first elected Prime Minister not from Quebec since Joe Clark. 26 year stretch.

I think LPC have a theory that they need Quebec to win....and perhaps rightly so which may explain where they get their candidates from.

While it would be nice to having the PM office filled by people from all regions, in practice that doesn't happen. At one time it seemed it alternated between a francophone and a anglophone, but the leader has been predominately from central Canada. We have had Harper, Clark, Kim Campbell (2 months) and Diefenbaker from the west and the rest have been mostly Ontario and Quebec. The majoritiy of our population resides in those two provinces so representatives from there stand the greatest chance of having sufficient support to rise to leader of the party.

As for the next leader of the Liberal Party I am hoping the 'dark horse' that wins the support at the convention by strong policies that resonate with the delegates. It will do more for the Liberal parties aspirations to return to power than picking Justin or another candidate that has a media profile.
