The Wheel Of Time season two dropped tonight. Not sure if I want to bother. I didn't mind the story of the first season but most of the characters were so generic, bland, and uninteresting as to be mostly forgettable. Seems a lot of money for a company to spend on a franchise that large & well-regarded in fantasy fiction and do it all in such a paint-by-the-numbers manner that it doesn't provide a viewer with a much of a reason to follow it.

That's a lot of sci-fi media lately though. Wheel of Time, Another Life, Lord of the Rings . . . all predictably cookie cutter, until they aren't.

I don't think they are looking for Emmy awards, just to bring eyeballs to their platform for a short time to raise the stock price. It's mindless entertainment.

And because of the writers strike I been catching up on old series like homeland (since slow horses is caught up) and Black sails

Looks like it could be good, far more like the terrific Godzilla 2014 movie and much less like the not-very-good-at-all Gozilla/Kong movies that followed.
