Bump again, in advance of the second half of the season starting on Sunday night.

Also found this, some deleted scenes from the first episode of season two, with stuff that happened just after the escape from the explosion of the CDC. It explains what happened to the vatos from season one.

This show does a fantastic job of making the viewer feel like they are part of the story. You feel a personal connection to the characters of this show. You can love them, or hate them. You cannot ignore them. When walkers are chasing our heros, it is easy to imagine oneself as part of the group on the run. No easy feat. I remember reading an article several years ago about the movie "The exorcist". When that movie came out, grown men were passing out in the theaters. The article stated that at the time the movie came out, the majority of Americans were religeous. They believed in a "devil" that could posess them. That was in the realms of reality for the majority of Americans at the time. For someone to see a werewolf, or vampire would produce a momentary scare. Surprise would induce a fright for a second or two. After that, the rational mind would take over. Your brain would say: its not real, relax. Seeing something that the mind could rationalize as real, is much more terrifying. There lies the genius of this series. It is set in the future. It is a slight future for sure, but it is a future none the less. The closer that future is to your current reality...the more believable the future scenario becomes. The mind is more open to believe more fantastic results in the future, than the current. We can "see" ourselves in this predicament. I almost feel exhausted after watching an episode of the walking dead. I feel like it is my reality for 60 minutes. A truely fantastic series! Kudos to the producers of this fantastic show!

Andrea's speech is a little too reminiscent of Kirkman's bad tendency in the comic to go on too long with dialogue. That it was a bad speech, just like comic-Rick's speeches are also bad speeches most of the time, didn't help much. I'm also wondering why the Woodburyites are such a bunch of panicky idiots to begin with. Behind walls or not they can't be that clueless to what the outside world is like, so seeing them throw some suitcases on top of their already low-on-fuel mom-vans so they can strike out on their own into the middle of a hellscape was kind of laughable.

a) I'm just glad it's back.
b) good to see that Tyreese is going to form the moral centre of a group that's gotten too deep into kill-all-strangers-they-might-be-bad-guys mode.
c) I'm quite looking forward to seeing how ghost-Lori works out.
d) do a stand-alone episode of On The Road With The Dixon Brothers, it ought to be awesome.

Uncomfortable crossover of real life into my fantasy programs: I'm pretty sure that the AR-15 Rick was using during the raid on Woodbury was the same Bushmaster model .223 that the evil prick (whose name I will not ever say and who I hope is getting raped by Hitler in Hell for the rest of eternity) used at Newtown. Not saying anything political either way but it was still like "whoa!" for me.

Rick's long gun is an M4A1. Hope that makes you feel better.
