The New York Times had interviewed several dozen people over the past week in an attempt to corroborate Ms. Ramirez’s story, and could find no one with firsthand knowledge. Ms. Ramirez herself contacted former Yale classmates asking if they recalled the episode and told some of them that she could not be certain Mr. Kavanaugh was the one who exposed himself.

The New Yorker strongly stood by its article.

Getting called out by the NYT for maligning a Republican is a noteworthy event.

The bitch of it with these spurious accusations is that they throw shade on REAL accusations.

Now the next time someone is accused of something society will give a collective shrug and ask for the evidence. And that means cases from decades back that could be substantiated...like against Harvey Weinstein and Bill Cosby...may not ever even see the light of day.

Thing is, it's Ronan Farrow's reporting. He's been meticulous in detailing the accusations against Harvey Weinstein and Les Moonves and there's no reasons to think he's all of a sudden moved into political hatchet jobs.

And FWIW, Michael Avenatti supposedly has another accuser who can corroborate the original accusation against Kavanaugh

Farrow did a great job on the Weinstein story, no doubt. But he doesn't get to trade on his credibility, he still has to do a thorough job and in this case he failed.
