Tricks Tricks:
I had a big long response to this and then the site shit itself and I'm frankly too lazy to retype it in full, so I'll shorten it.
1) Trump is blamed because idiot republicans follow his lead. When he says "it affects virtually nobody" people believe him and then don't follow proper safety protocols. And then stupid republican governors don't allow for proper controls, because they want to be seen sucking up to this infantile piece of shit.
I'm curious, if someone came out and said "No more 9/11 remembrance stuff from the government, virtually no one died" you'd be a little pissed right? How about "No more memorial day, virtually no one died in WW1".
2) Blue states are almost all doing better than red states right now. The top 10 worst states for new cases per capita are all red, the bottom 10 and blue. Several blue states got hit really hard because they are densely populated and have significant travel going through them (like New york). They are doing better than pretty much every super red state now.
3)Saying a "handful of blue states make up the vast majority of the cases and death in the U.S." is expected. Two huge blue states make up 20% of your countries population. Of course they're going to be hit harder by something that requires distancing between people.
It's also untrue. Of the top 5 highest number of cases by state, 2 are blue and make up 1.3 million cases. The other 3 are red, 1.75 million.
4)He's pointing out that to blame Trudeau for Ontario shutting down again is fucking stupid because Ford and Trudeau don't like each other and are opposite sides of the political spectrum. Ford isn't going to do anything just because Trudeau asked him to. Governor fuckface from any given red state WILL do something because Trump said so. That's the difference. You president has fostered a cult following of incompetence and fearing science.
I too had a similar post written and tried to submit it after the site died, so it was also lost - fortunately, your post covers all the points I had and adds a one more (#4) I hadn't thought of.
