Down here it's Somalis who are the worst in public because they have no qualms whatsoever about discriminating against non-Muslims and, so far, the courts are letting them have a pass on this.

In private, it seems to be the Pakistanis who are the worst for wanting to commit acts of terror.

In contrast, the Iranians (who often prefer to be called 'Persians') I know are consistently great people.

Last time I checked, this wasn't Europe...our immigration policies are far different.

Maybe you have less problems in other big Canadian cities but in Montreal, we get a lot of muslims because they come from french speaking countries like Morocco, Algeria, Lebanon, Tunisia. We also get a lot of Haitians. So while you get the hardworking workers, we get bandits and muslims.

I'd be worried if Muslims constituted 50% of our annual immigrant population, but as it stands now (20%), it'll be a helluva long time (like a century or two)before they ever have enough number to turn this country into the Caliphate.

I'll be honest, I don't care for Muslims very much either (but then again, I don't care for any hard core religious group), but I'm not about to worry about something that might never happen.

According to the Association of Canadian Studies, by 2017 there will be about 1.4 million Muslims in Canada. That's out of 34.5 million Canadians. Hardly the invasion you're worried about. When Muslims make up 50% (or more) of our new immigrants, then you'll have a leg to stand on.

Until then, I see it as just a smoke screen for thinly hidden racism.

Yes but I wouldn't want Canada to stop immigration all together, we should always try to bring the brightest minds to Canada. So Canada's population would continue to climb.

We accept far more Asians (Chinese, Japanese, Koreans, and Indians) each year than we do Muslims, and over the past 100 years most of their descendants have fully assimilated. Even when it comes to Muslims, a fair amount of 2nd gen Muslims do assimilate, so even in their case, I'm not too worried.

This demographic shift everyone seems to be worried about is much do about nothing. I'm far more worried about paying taxes to keep all those boomers alive (heart operations are damned expensive).

The level of immigrants coming from Muslim countries is on the rise and Asian is decreasing (in case you haven't noticed they are kinda in the same boat as us population wise). Also as I mentioned with the digital age assimilation has pretty much gone out the door now.

The 'magic' number for the Muslims seems to be 15% of the population. Once they hit that mark in any given locality they attain a sort of 'critical mass'. The point being that you'll have a problem on your hands when they about double their numbers.

While doing the laundry, ironing, dishes, floors, windows, beds, paint walls, mow lawns, clean out basements, change dirty diapers, do groceries with 2 toddlers and serve on the oh so tired husbands who have sat on their butts all day looking at paperwork and chatting with their co-workers

Men paint walls and mow lawns. I don't recall ever seeing a woman mowing a lawn. Execept that hot redhead girl a few years back that worked for a landscaping company, but did a terrible job. She can mow me anytime....

And hey....paperwork is hard Brenda! I got injured by a staple once, and almost had to take a week off due to the psychological implications!
