Thanos Thanos:
For a country that supposedly cares so much about things like Remembrance Day and D-Day anniversaries we certainly don't suffer from a shortage of elected left-wing punks who like to use these days, and the military in general, as a convenient punching-bag for their shitty causes. And, yes, I question the sincerity of the voting public on how much they "care" when they consistently elect trash like Ben Isitt and the rest of the Victoria city council into public office. Not just Victoria either, considering that devious virtue-signalling assholes like Isitt are prevalent on just about every large municipal government across Canada.

I think this Frack should pay for these expenses out of his own pocket. Moron should be grateful he doesn't live in a National Socialistic country like Nazi Germany wanted.

I believe the Military paid in blood for events like Remembrance Day. This idiot should give his head a shake.

Exactly.

I expect my municipal taxes to go towards events such as this. I would be outraged if my city suggested such a thing.

$1:
The city said it costs $15,200 to police military events

That is SFA in comparison to everything else.

In fairness to Victoria Mayor Lisa Helps, she voted against this and had the grace to write a public apology about how badly the city bungled the removal of the John A Macdonald statue. But Ben Isitt is something else-the kind of smug, pompous twat whose arrogance is probably a hundred times more grating than his actual political positions.

If anything, he strikes me almost as a kind of left-wing Ezra Levant. Just as leftists could use Ezra as a way to try and smear conservatives in general, Ben Isitt is the perfect example rightists can use to smear progressives.

Here in St. Albert, we have a generally progressive council, and one that's made similar reconciliation efforts, but our councilors are a lot more gracious and respectful. I can't see them making blunders like Isitt's.

Freeland and Isitt share the same brain.
