Communism was never as effective as capitalism in disguising what it really was. In terms of their brutality they were much more honest about what they really were, none of this velvet glove over the iron fist that exists in the Western world. A higher standard of living is somewhat admirable, of course, but trying to convince the mass of disposable people that they're really not just cogs in the machine doesn't erase the reality. To use the pre-bellum American South as the most applicable backdrop, of course the house n****r had it better than the field n****r, but at the end of the day to the ones in charge they were all still just a bunch of n****rs.

What do you mean "killing people in Canada", Bart?

Canada was very much at the forefront of the Cold War and the Soviets inevitably were conducting operations on Canadian soil and against Canadians. To assume otherwise is tremendously naïve.

Duh... But I have doubts there were many blatant murders of Canadians in Canada. They infultrated the shit out of our government, and we got to be the ones who caught them red-handed (aha).

The Soviets were here, for sure. I don't think they were killing anyone here though. That might have gotten in the way of them being here.
