I think it also stems from many passages referring to the earth as un-moving.

They think because it says the earth doesn't move, shit as to revolve around the earth. And it's just spun out of control from there.

My single biggest issue with these people is when they insist on using the Bible to make any argument with people who don't believe in the Bible.

They're so fucking mentally stagnant that they can't THINK on their own. All they can do is recite things from the Bible to support other things that they recite from the Bible.
