Bear in mind that this is Obama's Justice Department pulling your strings on behalf of a big corporation.

Quite true. He could have been treated like Mahar Arar, for daring to point out the Emperors new transparent wardrobe.

We've a case like this down here... Terry Childs. Google him and look at the Wiki which is pretty good in this case.

Seems if you point out the foibles of management they come huntin' for you.

I'm a geek. I know the story well. ;)

He still should have given them the passwords when asked, and got it in writing, for when they destroyed the network.

That was the rub, when he asked them for a "hold harmless and indemnify" absolving himself of any actions the managers would take with his passwords they demurred.

Meaning they wanted to be able to blame him if they screwed up.

Boy, it's so refreshing to see corporatism run amok. And isn't it extra fun when gov'ts are complicit in a corporation's questionable actions/tactics?

I guess they figured with the hit on Osama in Pakistan, they had nothing to worry about bullshitting our RCMP to commit what was essentially an extra-judicial kidnapping within Canada.

I've generally preferred Democratic presidents because relations with Canada are less strained than with Republicans. But Obama is almost, almost making me nostalgic for the Dubya days 8O

And you think this couldn't have happened under W? You think those prosecutors phoned up Obama and asked his permission to do this, or that the Justice department has become more predatory under O than W? Or even that this is the first time something like this has happened?

Doesn't make sense what you're saying. You bring in Bin Laden's killing as if Obama and his cabal plotted their chance to screw over this guy. This was a decision made by some lowly prosecutor, possibly he was employed under Bush as well. You can put a string of almosts if you want, but for this instance is just doesn't make any sense to bring Obama into it.

The Americans don't care about us no matter who's president, nor should they, since they have to worry about their own country. What's sad to see his how slavishly we dance to their tune and eagerly look for any little crumbs of attention so we can go "they like us, they really like us."
