Doesn't necessarily sound like he's slagging it to me. He's simply suggesting that growth for growth's sake might not be the only way for capitalism to thrive.

I'd say blunders like Enron and Tyco might prove his point.

yeah....
$1:
Trudeau's vision was delivered to an audience that, for the most part, has profited from the traditional style of capitalism he denounced for his $10,000 speaking fee. And those who paid $75 for his views applauded politely when he was done.

No solution or specifics, just broad sweeping generalizations with a hint of disaster that only he can prevent.

There is no perfect system. Anyone who believes otherwise is naive. If there is absolutly no profit insentive, a system will fail, as was the case with communism. If we live only for the profit insentive, the system will also fail. I believe Trudeau was just putting into words, what he believed would be sacrificed by living only for the almighty dollar. If we do not recognize the flaws we will never develop the solutions.

It has been said that democracy is the worst form of government except all the others that have been tried.

Oh ya, and we know how you hate that. Cause you would never do that yourself!
You think you would find a Liberal who is concerned with priorities and values refreshing.

Interesting that so many who speak out about the evils of capitalism come from a privileged background. Never knowing about stuggling to make ends meet they can condemn the system they benefitted from.

Exactly ShepherdsDog.
Here is a man who really has done little except inheret a last name and, considering his mother, questionable mental strength, yet he commands a $10,000 price to slag people weathy enough to pay him to speak out against them. If that's not a joke about the Liberal party, I don't know what is.
I'm sure he would have rather talked about the health of his special friend and mentor, Fidel Castro. Maybe Fidel could pass on some hints about nationalizing the oil sector or fixing the medical system.
