Except this deal was inked in 2013 under Harper's government in 2013:
$1:
It was the previous government that actually signed a co-operation plan initiative in 2013 under Rob Nicholson, when he was the Minister of National Defence...
Specifically, Canada advanced its bilateral defence relationship with China through talks between senior military officials on both sides in March 2012 and June 2013. The Cooperation Plan Initiative, which would guide defence-related activities, was signed in Ottawa in August 2013.

Which was seven years ago. Times have changed.
Times may have changed but China hasn't.
It is the same dictatorship run by the same party and same dictator. The same dictator who ramped up military spending, internet censorship, and reduced freedom for Chinese citizens. Oh yeah, it's also the same country who Harper signed a trade deal with that Canada cannot leave for 2035.
So I take any 'misgivings' from the very same Conservatives who signed these deals with this dictatorship, then turn around a few years later and scream bloody murder about it.
It's partisan hypocrisy plain and simple on the part of Levant and Bezan and anyone else complaining about this, especially when it was the current Liberal government which ended the bilateral training.
