CBC doing this should come as no surprise but, what should be the surprise is that they've become arrogant so quickly. No explanation of where and why the ad agency got the idea that this is what they wanted, nothing but a lame ass excuse.

Putting the "no round eyes need apply" in writing apparently isn't a problem since the real issue for them was the letting it get out into the public.

I wonder if the excuse "it was a mistake" would be accepted if it was CTV stating whites only need apply.

So they are promoting Hate?

In a round a bout way, yes.

If you honestly believe that CBC policy makers aren't up to snuff on the psychological effects of policies, both short and long term, on employees as well as clients (this would be basic management & marketing....which I'm sure CBC policy makers have actually studied...right?), than I don't really know what to tell you...other than they would require significant funding cuts, as they apparently aren't using the money well.

I'd say its causing resentment versus hate.

Because it's being whipped up. Why do you think you're seeing women and minorities on all the TV stations as newscasters etc? Because they are chosen on purpose to more reflect the audience, not because they are somehow better at reading the news than white men. I just fail to see how that is wrong or should cause resentment. Part of their skill set, unlike people behind the camera, is how they look and present themselves.

I'm not begrudging them getting the job, just the method that excludes a specific group.

Imagine the outrage if a company was to advertise a job and specify that women or blacks will not be considered! 8O

You would scream bloody murder, I say we need to go beyond this and just hire the best PEOPLE for the job. But somehow thinking like this is looked upon as being racist, sexist, homophobic etc..

As they said, that was a mistake. But at least they're being honest, not have people apply who have no chance. This is a performing job, what you look like matters, so I don't see anything wrong with saying this is what we're looking for.

I have no use for the kind of policies that set different standards for women and minorities, just to be pc and inclusive. Firefighters say. If the standards for best performance happen to favor white men (as long as they're not designed just to exclude others) so be it. But for a job in front of the camera, it just makes sense to me that an employer can hire who ever they think is best, including considerations of gender and ethnicity.

Has it ever occurred to you that no one gives a fuck what you say ?

It's easy to see this idiocy has carried on into the Oscars,
with all the whining and bitching from the BLM gang.

You're such a fucking loser. I've always wondered if you're one of those perpetually angry people who thinks they're a good person, or one of those who's proud to be an asshole. I'm pretty sure it's the latter.

And since you're also the dumbest member on this forum, I'll spell out to you that the jokes in last night's oscars are over the fact that so many roles are intentionally cast as white. And this is what pisses these people off: Cast only for whites: no problem, that's creative discretion. Cast specifically for a minority: anti-white racism (which is the only racism that exists)!!!!
