Canada's sovereignty is at risk when citizens are more concern about what is happening overseas then what is happening in Canada.... Send them back...!!!!

Mr_Canada Mr_Canada:
ridenrain ridenrain:
$1:
Protest spokesman Siva Vimal said they decided to end their protest after speaking with the office of Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff and receiving assurances he would take up their cause at caucus.

Are they terrorists or are they not, Mr.Ignatieff? It was you'r own party that labled them so. Is this another of you're famous flip-flops?

Please.. Can some of the Liberal apologists explain this.

The 'Liberal apologist' has arrived. Or perhaps just another voice of simple reasoning.

It's not new for a party to move along in views. And is especially nothing unusual
for a leader to have different views then the party under his predecessors did.

I think he's referring to Iggy himself and not the differences of opinion between the leaders. One good example, carbon tax. Iggy was the first prominent MP to come out in support of it prior to the last election, a few months ago he said "no" to the carbon tax, then later he said he wouldn't rule it out, then he said he didn't support a carbon tax, his party then passed a resolution supporting one and Iggy again came out against it in favor of a cap and trade system (the same system he said months earlier was a complete waste of time).

With a track record like that it's no wonder no one can figure out what he stands for.

Reminds me of 1998 when Serbia was getting bombed by NATO. There were numerous Serbian protests through-out Toronto.

Politicians flip-flop.

Don't even think they don't, or won't.

Flip flopping is one thing, I can respect someone having a sobber second thought on an issue and changing their opinion but changing you're mind numerous times in a matter of months simply to avoid being pinned down until you can tell which way popular opinion is blowing is anouther.

Thats because what Iggy said (other then he is a real wild child) was that he wouldn't rule out raising taxes to avoid a large deficit.

Carbon tax, income tax, surtax, or X-tax. It all boils down to the same thing. All large deficits do is pass that debt onto our children.

Mr_Canada Mr_Canada:
How about Harper's position on Afghanistan?

"Staying. "Leaving." "Definitely leaving." "Might be leaving." "Might be staying." "Leaving." "Staying." "Leaving soon."

Now it's pretty secure. But for the election, it was impossible to pin his view down, as he changed it within weeks...

It's how politics work.

Yep. Its the same partisan crap that sees some of the military supporting guys on here take polar opposite positions about different parties visiting Afghanistan.

That's because there's a genuine difference between people who genuinely care (Stephen Harper/Peter MacKay) about the condition and morale of the soldiery going to Afghanistan and those who go over just to stir up media muck (Denis Coderre) or try to find ridiculous examples of Canadian "wrongdoing" in order to compare our troops to the German SS (Dawn Black).

Harper has stated that we are commited until 2011. As far as I know that hasn't changed, if you have a link to an article that says different please post it.
