The old France that wouldn't tolerate this is long gone so aside from the momentary drama of a police siege and shoot-out when they find these guys there probably won't be much of a response. Just the tough words of this moment then in a week it'll just be another item on the list of what a failed immigration policy gets you.
Interesting that the second headline story on the CBC site, right below the Paris killings, is that Canada is making room for 10000 more 'refugees' from Syria. Gee, what could possibly go wrong with something like this? The long, slow suicide of the West continues unabated. Don't worry, liberals, you still won. Despite today's atrocity, in the long term your policies and theories that have done so much good for our societies are still firmly in place.

martin14 martin14: It would be nice if every Western journalist and editor went home tonight and had a real hard think about how they have been writing for the past several years, always trying to deflect and apologize for Islam.
Unfortunately, I think the exact opposite is going to happen. I would love to see some of their cartoons on the front page of every newspaper tomorrow morning. The media are the ones that rely on their freedom to post whatever they want, and they have to be the ones who show that that right will not be taken away through fear and intimidation.

stratos stratos: I'm already hearing spin on this trying to marginalize the relationship to Islam. Some talking head saying something along the lines of "look we have reached out and talked with moderate Imams and encourage them to let the world know things like this is not part of their religion of peace."
This is not even 6hrs old and already apologists and others are trying to tell us this is an isolated incident. Which brings up an interesting question. How many isolated incidents does it take to equal a trend? Cuz there's been a fuckton of these "isolated incidents" over the last 20 years.

Not sure what the Duke of Wellington would think, but a vigil in Trafalgar Square, Londoners have been singing 'La Marseillaise' in solidarity.

xerxes xerxes: Not sure what the Duke of Wellington would think, but a vigil in Trafalgar Square, Londoners have been singing 'La Marseillaise' in solidarity. SWEET! It has been the main topic of discussion here at work all day long. On a serious side note. The last few months there have been power point presentations on active shooters for every dept. Yet the one you would think would be the first group to get it has not yet had it. That's right the SECURITY Dept has not had the active shooter class. I am wondering if it is because of the day shift security. One of us wrote it, the other is teaching it and me with my background kind of makes it redundant. Not to mention if a gunmen comes in to the main lobby I'm most likely to be the first one shot.

There's already been one Terrorist attack in Canada, Jihadists from Calgary went to fight and die for ISIS and now with these refugees coming we're fucked.
