Khan will probably still be the next Mayor of London. His opponent, Zac Goldsmith, reminds everybody of the dodgy tax dealings the wealthy get up to in Britain.

I was thinking that the Labour anti-Semitism row will hand City Hall to Zac Goldsmith.

But even though the counting of the votes in the London mayoral elections is getting under way today, it looks as though Khan (an Islamist sympathiser) is going to win.

People in the North London Borough of Barnet have been unable to vote due to some cock-up. Barnet has one-fifth of all the Jews in England and Wales. They normally support Labour but their support for that party has slumped to 8% since the anti-Semitism row. But yesterday the largely Jewish population of Barnet were unable to vote. It's shocking in the world's oldest democracy.

The first stages of the count revealed Mr Khan was winning more than 40 per cent of the vote in the first round of the race for City Hall. The final results will be announced in London later today

Khan is a secular politician. His massive victory should come as no surprise to anyone even slightly familiar with London's problems.
