I think with Immigration there's a health screening they must go through and I'm sure Vaccinations are required, or proof there of. Could be wrong but I'm sure I've heard about the process including it.

Sorry you can't force children to get vaccinated any more than you can force pregnant women to take thalidomide. Parents are entitled to raise their children how they like.

Although I believe that getting vaccinated is the best option, there are actual benefits to not getting vaccinated and risk to those whom do and for that reason I believe it should be a choice.

Risks and potential side effects:
http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/vac-gen/side-effects.htm

If your first kid got severe brain damage from the measles vaccine, which is an actual extremely rare side effect, I am thinking you would all opt out of giving your second child the same vaccine.

The choice needs to be there.

And people with Ebola should have the choice to attend public sporting events and concerts.

When it starts to become a severe public health issue, people's choices sometimes need to be constrained.

Personally though, I kind of agree. Let them refuse vaccines, as long as they also stay out of my kids school, daycare, park, swimming pool, etc

Ok but if your kids are vaccinated, what is your concern ?

You are not advocating to force people to take vaccines with potentially dangerous side effect that you don't actually believe work, are you?

In an extreme circumstance like your example, I agree. But it doesn't help when said parent then won't shut up about how vaccines cause brain damage or worse because their child had a one in a million reaction.
Bio-toxin Jenny is a prime example only worse. It was clinically proven her child did not become autistic as a result of vaccination but she won't shut up about it anyway. It's those dumbasses that cause the most damage.

OK, so we can ban peanut butter from schools because of the dangers it poses to a minuscule segment of the student population. Schools should be allowed to ban unvaccinated kids from school for the dangers they pose to a larger number of students and teachers. It's no different than telling some kids they don't have to wipe their asses and wash their hands after having a shit.

Vaccines usually, but not always, work. The kids that they don't work perfectly on ate still protected because almost everyone around them is immune so they don't get exposed. Its called herd immunity. Its why those with legitimate medical reasons for not getting vaccinated are still OK. As the number of unvaccinated kids goes up however, the likelihood of my kids running into something that their vaccines don't work against goes up.

If my kids get whooping cough because scientifically illeterate yahoos refuse to follow basic public health recommendations I might exercise my personal freedom to do something rash.

Just because one is immune to the effects of a contagious disease does not mean they can't still be a carrier and help spread it.

Public safety trumps religion and your perceived entitlements.

As a parent, you don't have the right to put my children and the rest of the children in danger because of some 'belief'....or just plain stupidity.

If you don't have all your vaccinations, you shouldn't be allowed into schools. Unless you can prove there's a medical reason for not getting a certain vaccine.

My kids love peanuts and I can't send them to school with anything resembling a nut but I can send a my kid to school without being vaccinated because my God says it's bad.

True, Ebola has killed less people than the MMR diseases have.
