As usual, everyone misunderstands everything. What the National Assembly is saying; You can't change the constitution without consulting the provinces. Senate reform is changing the constitution.

It shouldnt always be up to Québec to protect provincial power in this Country, but sadly, it always is.

Once again Quebec is claiming a VETO on constitutional matters and then morphing it into the right to DICTATE......meanwhile using the "not-withstanding-clause" to support their racism and bigotry.

If they can gurantee Quebec will be able to continue to hold on to 22 out of the 93 seats , they might agree with Senate reform, Otherwise I don't think provincial "intrests" should be considered when it comes to senate reform, senate reform at the very least is long over due.

senate reform is long over due for sure , some like me are wondering when if ever will something be done to fix it . just seems that the senate is allowed to continue as is for ever and ever . mostly because of liberal in action and lack of desire for change in senate .

Why would anyone expect Quebec to be in favour of Senate reform? Next, you'll be surprised that China, Russia, France, the USA and the UK aren't interested in reforming the UN and the Security Council.

All that happens is they stand to lose. Canadians had an opportunity (Charlottetown referendum) to effect change in the Senate but chose not to.

Diddo, fuck Quebec. It would be a preferable to the Liberal's policy of doing just that.
