Canadians care more about the luge than the legislature

What a dumb thing to say. It's like he asked for this.

An interesting read, but Curtman, blogs and opinion are not considered 'real' news at CKA.

Try posting it in the forum next time, or Hyack will be along to slap you on the wrist!

Yeah, but who are you going to vote for? The Liberals? NDP? About all I can do is pray for an independent in my riding...

Would the Reuters article be more appropriate? The issue isn't the blogger, it's the poll he's talking about.

$1:
Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper's decision to suspend Parliament has cost his party its lead in public support, a poll released on Wednesday found.

The Strategic Counsel poll, published by the Toronto Star, showed Harper's Conservatives with 31 percent popular support and the opposition Liberals with 30 percent, which would make an election a toss-up if one were held today.

My apologies.. I read a handful of articles, and located one on the cka newswatch which I thought might be fun to discuss.

This really can't be true. Our Prime Minister said nobody cares. He wouldn't lie to us would he?

Independant for sure. No way I can get behind any of the other parties either. Right now, provincially, I'm watching WR. Though I'm not too impressed with them not requiring a by-election.

Take any poll you like, they all show the same thing. They blew their chance at majority.

Speaking of polls... http://www.canada.com/montrealgazette/news/story.html?id=3d672e31-59aa-457c-bc78-9552d188335a

$1:
Under Stephen Harper's Conservatives, the federal government spent more money on polling and focus groups last year than in any other since it began tracking the total costs of public opinion surveys.

More than $31 million was spent sampling opinions in 2006-07, the first full fiscal year under a Tory government, according to a Public Works and Government Services Canada report.

The Tories out-spent all the previous Liberal governments on public opinion research.

Kinda weakens the argument that investigating torture of detainees costs too much. They've got money to burn.

Same old same old.

When a poll says what you want it to say it's the holy grail. When it doesn't it's "just a poll". The results are predictable but hardly catastrophic considering the reaction to the previous prorogue and what happened to the CPC numbers a month or two after.

This missing component for the Liberals is the believable argument why they'd be better. Come up with that and then it might be catastophic for the CPC.

Why would they call for an election? He's made the policy on that pretty clear I think.

Then you get to see a clip of Steve complaining about the Liberals being on break during the regularly scheduled break.
