I don't enjoy David Bowie I find his music to be strange.

I'm a little high right now. But yea, I have no problem with people smoking it in their homes or on their property. But smuggling it leads further criminal problems. But if it was legal for someone to grow it themselves wouldn't it eventually cut a chunk of that element out?

My mother smokes (not pot) and I know its an addiction and REALLY bad health risks (I have tried to get her to quit multiple times), but my mother doesn't change when she has a smoke.
When a friend has too many drinks or does pot, - THEY CHANGE.
I don't believe substances that affect the judgment of a person and serve no purpose to hold their normal state of life - should be legal.
I would support pot for a woman with cancer on death's door, who wanted to relieve the pain.
Do we really want to send the message as a society that we accept you pissing your life away?
Oh and people that smoke marijuana and drive can kill people.
I am not saying it should be 5 years in prison, but I believe having to pay a hefty fine, having a court date, and maybe going to jail for 2 weeks, will get these people back on the right track.
My grandfather on my mom's side, and both my grandparents on my dad's side were alcoholics, and I know personally how that destroy's a persons life.
I also have a friend who I occasionally hang out with, who smokes pot, and he is always waiting to get his next high, too lazy to get out and do stuff, and has lost 3 jobs since he started it.

I've never lost a job and my marks have been steadily rising since I started university (not saying pot made them go up, I studied harder). Its not everyone who goes down a bad path.

Sounds like your family has some issue with self control and you hang around a bad group of friends. Why, then, should that affect the lives of everyone else in the country? Not everyone has the same problems with alcohol and drugs. If someone does have those issues, it's their problem and their families, not Canada's. That is, unless they do something that harms someone else, in which case they should be punished by law.
Keep promoting your Nanny State - ask the government to tell you and your family how to behave because you don't know how.

And cops could focus on real problems. Like break-ins and crap.

I do not like either. There is not much music that appeals to me as it is Listening to music with degrading sexual lyrics is not my cup of tea.

Westman guy sounds very honest about his life. I do not know of one family who hasn't had "someone" who had problems with either drugs or alcohol. Why is it he can not state what he has seen in his life without being told his family has "self-control" issues? Do you ever do research and look at what they have written about the uses of these mind alternating drugs? Most cops will tell you what they have discovered.Would you feel safe if you knew cops.Firepersons' anyone in a state of authority was on crack when they are supposed to be saving your life? I would feel threatened if all the cops were drunk or high.
I have heard of this one Doctor who was always drunk when he performed surgery, would you feel safe with him doing surgery on you?

They were not to my taste. Was it because he didn't make any sense as he was "high as a kite"

Not to your taste isb etter than saying they were degrading.
His lyrics do make sense it just takes a little while to sort it out.
Like Major Tom for example, its a response to 2001.

Decriminalizing it would be the smart thing to do. It ain't going anywhere that's for sure.
And out of all the legal and illegal substances out there its the least damaging and we all know it.
