I wish we'd ban cars already.

I wish we could ban self righteous people.

Sorry, I was kidding.

Though they really are really dangerous things that kill thousands.
And pollute and are frequently used as weapons... and so on...

And sometimes people get drunk and drive in them.

I don't imagine the 1800's were a lot of fun.

RUEZ RUEZ:
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Gordon Campbell is the worst thing that's ever happened to BC.

Well, not being a BCer, I'll defer to your local knowledge, but worse the So- Cred and NDP parliaments? Worse than Vander Zalm?

In that, you and I would never disagree!

I don't know about "ever", but from what I've seen, he sure is NOT a good thing...

In my opinion yes. Gordon Campbell has saddled us with more new taxes and regulations than any past Premier I can remember. I think people also had such high expectations for him and I know I've been greatly dissapointed.

Campbell is the Socreds, who, because they couldn't get elected on a dare after the Vanderzalms debacle, chose to amalgamte with the BC Liberals, who at the time were being run by two lovebird MLA's who knew they'd never have the money or the backing of business to get their party elected.

So Gordon Wilson sold his party down the river to Campbell and big business and was unwillingly sent to Coventry. [B-o] But to answer your question. Gordon Campbell actually makes Bill Vander Zalm look like mother Theresa. 8O

So for the record. this whole HST fight is really between the old guard Social Credit Party and the usurpers led by Gordon Campbell, who from rumours is now attempting to become the leader of the BC Conservative Party.

Hope this clears it up.

Because it's the same request as "Show us zee papers". It's not got a damn thing to do with ego. I'd gladly be the precedent guineau-pig in taking random and arbitrary police searches to the Supreme Court.

Absolutely agree with you on this. Cops are humans and like all humans use personal judgment. Certain people are going to be pulled more often than others, people are going to feel picked on (dare I say discriminated).

If a cop pulls you over and suspects you to be intoxicated or DUI, then they will make you do the breathalyzer test. There's no reason they should harass you unless you're suspect. Too many bored cops out there to be given this privilege.

Same reason why I don't support random stop and searches.

We have enough crooked douchebags in Ontario that it's hard to keep the fuckwits straight without a program. I'm sure I haven't the storage space in my gourd to possibly comprehend your set of miscreants. But I can't see how Ontario could be possibly be worse off if we swapped you McGuinty, Harris, Eaves, Hudak or Rae for Campbell. Wanna deal?

I don't like it.
It could start a slippery slope.
First breathalyzers than maybe a random search of vehicles or homes.
What is the difference?

The police have to work to convict and that is the way it should be.

 I heard an interesting poll on the radio the other day. Even without a leader or much of a platform. The BC Conservative party has 18% support, the same as the Liberal party.

Maybe that's why Gordo is so intent upon amalgamating with them.

After watching him screw up this provinces finances and given his limited
mathmatical ability,(see Olympic Budget) he probably figures that an amalgamation with the Conservatives would give him 36% in the polls.

I doubt he'll get there, though, they did sign up Randy White. Hopefully, they'll gag him and tell him to leave his sombrero at home.

IMO he's a good choice to help the party get off the ground but still, he may have to much baggage for some people out here, especially in the lower mainland.

I agree on both. National level political experience, but a history of saying and doing dobey things when he was with Reform. That being said, there is worse out there. I see Rita Johnson has resurrected herself and has joined. I'm waiting for Vanderzalm to make his move. After his leadership during the HST revolt, he's got to be riding a wave of popularity. I smell possible leadership canidate...
