And this is why idiots that let 4 year olds play with guns, shouldn't have guns.

Love that Constitution.
Get convicted of a gun offense, just exercise your God given right to buy another gun the next day.

$1:
She was arrested on charges of child neglect and drug charges after officers found cocaine and marijuana in the home.

I guess this says enough?

It says a lot. Why wasn't she charged with careless storage of a firearm, and why isn't that a much greater charge than possessing some dope? The drugs didn't kill the kid.

My take on it is that the gun was her boyfriends, and not hers...

In a round about way they might have contributed to the childs death. Mom so busy using drugs that she doesn't monitor her children, knowing fully that there is a gun in the house, and continues searching for that high. Moronic mother plus drugs plus guns equals these kids never having a chance in hell at a normal life.

Oh I dunno, having cocaine and weed around (surely for use) shows the state of mind of the mother. If there was a mind left.

Yes, but you're missing or evading the point. The drugs didn't kill the kids, the gun left unattended did. To ignore that and only focus on the drugs is just nuts.

Sounds like they were in the drug trade and were also drug users, so drugs did play a role in the kids death

I'm not arguing that with you. I'm arguing that charges relating to the gun should take center stage here.

But if drugs were legal, they wouldn't be dealing, and maybe they wouldn't have the gun since nobody would be trying to rip them off for the drugs.

This is nothing more than some unfortunate colateral damage of the right to bear arms.

These things happen. Three year olds getting shot is a small price to pay for freedom.

Sheesh...

It was actually a typo. They had the right to bare arms, meaning short sleeved shirts were an acceptable form of attire in their militia.

I'm not sure if they're ignoring anything, really. Consider it context for the entire situation. Everybody asks where were the parents in these situations. Stating there was also drugs gives some context.

Plus, the "Child Neglect" might include aspects of the gun related charge. Or "Improperly Storing a Firearm" is to the level of Jaywalking, something that most people might assume would be included in the worse offenses.

Also, when did the article ever just focus on drugs?
