It's not about the USA subsidizing imports. It's about US not being able to sell into Canada certain closed markets. Dairy, eggs, chicken, etc.
Retaliatory taxes work well. US consumers have been screwed and gouged for billions in over 50 years of LBJ's "chicken tax" on small trucks. That was for Germany selling VW vans and buses and not allowing US chicken into Germany.
Notice how those butt poor terrorists all have Toyota pickups but the damn things cost almost the same as a full size F150 here? And the little Ford Transit thatès over $40K cuz they tear out the seats, throw them away and weld panels over the windows to dodge part of that ancient tax?
