Brenda Brenda: raydan raydan: Yup... cats should be all fed a vegan diet. Think about it. They would still need a suplement to their diet. Cats are finicky, they probably wouldn't touch it.

So if the cat eats a mouse, does the owner punish it?

Proculation Proculation: Felidae is the biological family of the cats; a member of this family is called a felid. Felids are the strictest carnivores of the thirteen terrestrial families in the order Carnivora. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FelidaeMany Cats and Dogs develop diabetes because the first ingredient in cheap pet food is 'corn'. It should be some form of meat protien. The food I buy does.

Ironic how PETA supports a human forcing another animal to do something it wouldn't do on it's own. That seems pretty cruel. Just saying....... Just sell the cat and get a rabbit. Do you think he'd feed the rabbit meat? Is this a vegan thing or is he just an idiot? Or, for fun, put the cat and rabbit in a room and lock the door. See how vegetarian your cat really is

So when this idiots cat starts to become deathly ill, can he be charged with animal abuse? I think he truly needs to be held down and have a dozen greasy burgers shoved down his throat!

AS to the actual issue. PETA really does more harm than good. I can completely understand people who choose to be vegetarian for health reasons or even for moral reasons. I think we're all atleast vaguely aware of what goes on in the food industry and how a lot of our "food" is treated before it becomes food. I can completely understand people being uncomfortable enough with that to give up meat. But please don't get all self-righteous on me because I still like a steak.
PETA takes it to a ridiculous extreme. They make me want to eat more meat just to spite them. In fact, I think I'm gonna go out and muy myself some silk underwear, just to show my support for worm enslavement.

QBC QBC:  The IQ level of PETA must be into the negative with rocket scientists like this twit in it's ranks. Next thing for PETA, getting Great White sharks on a vegan diet. Who wants to go with me and take pictures while they try this?.... PETA have never registered on the IQ scale, combine every member and you may get the IQ of person born without a brain.

I am still waiting for some kind of warning that a PETA protest will occur in my area so I can go and rent a genuine animal fur coat and hat and walk by munching on a cheeseburger.

We get into trouble when we start feeding animals crap they didn't evolved to eat. Humans and chimpanzees, like bears and pigs are omnivores and we have alot of leeway in what we eat. We can easily survive as carnivores or vegetarians, but function best when we eat plant and protein. The beef and dairy industry are just as bad, including bone meal and other protein byproducts in cattle feed. In nature, it's only when an animal is suffering a severe nutrient deficiency that they stray from their normal diet, which is why you sometimes see cats and dogs eating grass, or herbivores gnawing on bones or eating the afterbirth.
I'd also like to point out that humans will sicken and die if their diet is lacking in fatty acids found only in meat. We can remain healthy on a strict protein diet, as our body can convert protein into a carbohydrate, or we can burn fat as a fuel for the body, although I find the idea of being a pure carnivore or vegetarian repugnant. Vegans have to take quite a few supplements to remain healthy.

If these knobs want a vegan pet, why don't they just get bunnies, instead of owning carnivorous predators?
