And now Kent Hehr is gone too. He can't even DO any of this shit even if he wanted to, he only SAID inappropriate things.
Get the point yet? Women are sick of it.

Yup.

Basic rule of life - don't be a dick and you won't get nailed. Seems to be another one of those common sense things that somehow got forgotten over the last few decades. :|

Fucking CBC just mentioned "allegations." No details. I guess on the other hand, I know far too much about the penises and vaginas of politicians and celebrities, so maybe I can see the CBC's point.

I don't know, everybody just seems so fucking prissy these days. They don't even say "had a beer" or "tequila shooters" anymore. It's like a police report: "then I consumed six beverages that contained alcohol."

Tricks Tricks:
Coach85 Coach85:
Tricks Tricks:
Actually it is. Many people don't report these types of crimes because of how bad it is to go through the court process. They're crucified because of it. It's why the sexual assault reporting is so low up until now, they're ostracized and viewed as participants rather than victims. If you look at a country like Sweden, where victims aren't blamed for being part of the act, the reporting is much higher.

Doing the right thing isn't always easy. It's equally unacceptable to ostracize a man with allegations without any due process. Their allegations are subject to scrutiny and that's not avoidable nor should it.

There are two sides to this and BOTH need to be considered, not just the accuser.
I agree, it isn't always easy. I can't personally judge people for not wanting to be harassed and attacked in court over this personally. You are free to, but I can't in good conscience do that. I agree innocent until proven guilty, which is why he won't go to jail over it. He also hasn't lost his job as MPP over this. He's only stepped down as leader, which is the right thing to do if these are false or not from the perspective of anyone who wants the PCs to win. He could never win with this hanging over him.

$1:
You don't wait 10 years, that's how you handle this.
Would you say the same thing about the girls who went after Moore? We live in a different time now than even 10 years ago when it comes to being a victim of sexual assault.

$1:
You had to admit, this entire story and the timing seems awfully convenient. The guy has been in public office for 12 years.
And strangely enough, I'm hearing from people who live in Barrie this isn't news to them.

$1:
Just months before his first election as leader, this is released to the media and not the police.
It's definitely bad timing. I also just heard on the radio (haven't had a chance to corroborate it, so take with pound of salt) that this was in reaction to finding out the Liberals had something on him, and that the party themselves leaked this to have him out as leader.

$1:
Let's recap here:

1. Brown asked a woman for a blowjob. She gave him one.
After he provided them with alcohol when he himself was not drinking. That's rule number 1 in not being accused of sexual assault really. Strange he would have alcohol as someone who professes to never drink.
$1:
2. Brown had a woman staff member over to his house after a night at the bar and things got frisky, she didn't like it and asked to be taken home and he did. She claims she was 'very inebriated' yet recalls the incident from 10 years ago with clarity.
Which I would totally allow for, if she hadn't reported the event to her father directly after, who has corroborated her story. Obviously, his connection to the alleged victim makes it suspect, but that at least means there are two memories here.
$1:
If there is criminal wrongdoing, let's get the police involved. Having a bad date or regretting giving a blowjob likely won't qualify.

Agreed, I defended Aziz Ansari for the same reason. In this instance, it frankly doesn't matter if it is true or not, because you can not field a political leader in a race for government who has been accused of sexual assault. Regardless of our feelings towards his innocence or lack thereof.

I think most people would agree that the actions Brown is alleged to have committed of are only “borderline” at worst lif someone we’re making it ip they’d probably come up with something a little more salacious.

it’s the alleged circumstances, not the alleged deeds, that give it the ick factor: “barely legal “ teens, the girls being highly intoxicated while Brown is a well known teetotaler who is always stone sober, and one of them is a subordinate employee. If not for the age gap and sobriety gap and authority gap for the employee, this would just be usual adventures in single life. He tried to put the moves on some girls and they said stop so he stopped. He’s no Bill Cosby or Roy Moore or Trump but there’s enough there to turn the public off.

The current so called "conservatives" are no challenge to the libs at all. The only thing they have is they are not liberals. That doesn't make me want to vote for them.
Where is your policy? They are fence sitters and suck. Conservatism in this country is all but dead. Good thing I am off grid and expand my garden ever year. Long lost are the days when brave Canadian Sailors ferried supplies to Great Britian at great risk to themselves. Canada has become a land of pussies.

Ok this an opinion piece but she raises some interesting points. The timing of it all makes me wonder though.

But then there is this

If the rumours have been flying a while it’s not surprising that a reporter has grabbed hold.

Lisa MacLeod had better not go off script. Poor improvisation in front of the mic will be her downfall.
