No, no, he's right. He's only posting that the parents are claiming that their daughter was forced to convert to Islam. FD of course thinks the parents are full of shite, he just posted this for our amusement to show how stupid people can be. So we have to give this one to him, he's totally correct. On all counts

The difference between the Daily Mail and what I'll call Progda such as CBC, BBC, or The Guardian is the two styles have different priorities. The priority of the Mail is to get the hits. The priority of the Progda publications is the story must line up with the progressive agenda or at least not contradict it.

The Mail will publish the story whether it get's the seal of approval from indoctrinated pod people or not.

As long as they can show it to be based on fact and it gets the hits they'll let you see the story.

Speaking of 'pod people', some of you apparently don't like that they'll let you see stories suggesting the possibility of educational indoctrination. I like that you don't.

Here's the thing. Two parents in Maryland are suing their daughter's high school, because they believe she is being indoctrinated in history class (I think it's history class) to Islam.

Others have made similar allegations, but as far as I know this is the first lawsuit.

That's what needs to be discussed, not why you don't think people should know about it.

The Daily Mail publishes stuff the Progressive media censors, and is the world's most visited news site as a result.

This pisses some people off. I say, so what? Go back to the CBC if the fuller truth bothers you. You're paying to get stroked at your state run media with stories that support the indoctrination. Go there then. Laugh at the truth and cry for your lies. Enjoy. Who cares?

The Daily Mail publishes what will sell papers or get hits. Whether it's factual or real is irrelevant.

At least in paper format, you can wipe your ass with it... the online version has no redeeming value whatsoever. :(

It would become relevant in a hurry if you could actually prove it to be false. But what you Progressive weekend warriors have proven so far is you can't, or you would.

I'm still waiting for one of you to produce evidence as to why we shouldn't believe that a Maryland couple is suing their daughter's high school, because they believe a course taught there is attempting to bias her faith towards Islam.

bias her faith? You said they believe she was forced to convert. You can't tell the difference? We believe (I think i can speak for the other posters here) that the parents believe she was forced to convert. We, at least I, believe that you believe it too. I believe you think there is a vast Muslim cornspiracy, of which Mrs. Urban is a part, to indoctrinate US children into Islam. To which I say Image

Moron - "bias her faith", "indoctrinate", and "forced to convert" are all factual statements as to what the parents believe happened to their daughter.

I shouldn't have to explain this but simply ask yourself are the facts presented in the story supporting all three of those statements?

Jeez man, take a little time to apply some thought to what you're saying. Or if you can't, find somebody that can.

But thanks for playing. :P

The subtitle of the article should be: "Local Idiot Makes Noise, People Forced to Listen".

I learned about the five pillars of Islam in high school too. And the Buddhist Eightfold Path. I converted to neither.

They never forced any of that crap on us in history class. If you wanted to learn about that you took world religion and/or comparative religious studies.
Someone taking a standard high school history class doesn't need to know the five fucking pillars of islam anymore than they need to be taught the ten commandments in history class.

No, an overview is relevant to history class, you just wouldn't study it in depth. You can't learn about the history of civilizations without learning who the people in the civilizations were and what their beliefs and motivations were.

As for the rest of the story, it's clearly just more exaggerated right wing hysteric horseshit.

Actually we read Roots in Gr. 10 or 11 and our English teacher brought them up for discussion.
