Just another chest-thumping look at me bill. That's about as effective as a bull with tits. La-di-frig'n-da!!!! What about their homes ? Should we send inspectors there too ?

Why dont the feds just ban the sale of tobacco already, tired of these relentless hypocritical attacks against the consumers of a legal deadly product. Enough of this shit, just ban it ffs !!!

What a bunch of Fallooten whooey . I don't smoke, hate the stuff ,can't stand the smell, but it makes one wonder what they want the money for when they make statements like this :and tobacco-related diseases directly cost Ontario's health care system $1.6 billion a year. Huh ! I'm sure tax profit from tobacco in Ontario exceeds that $1.6 B. I agree Ban Bans , people who smoke pay good money for their health care and noone should complain about them getting it . What they pay beats most peoples sponging off of the health care system . People shouldn't be so stupid and smoke around kids and if necessary roll down the window !!!

As much as I run libertarian, I do think this makes sense to not expose children to known toxins and carcinogens.

Were a parent to feed a child red dye #5 we'd all be uniformly up in arms.

This is no different.

The current global longevity holders are Japan and Spain.
The highest global incidence of adult smokers are Japan and Spain.
Objectively ETS is as validly a hazard as CO2 AGW and DDT.

yeah this province would pretty much ban everything until there was nothing left to ban . its geting kind of crazy .

mean maybe they should of called it restricting parents from smoking in cars , than an actual ban . idea of a ban just sounds a little harsh .

Yes the police have nothing better to do than stop vehicles with smokers to inspect for any small children in the care.

I say that and I am a non-smoker.

BartSimpson BartSimpson:
Smoking is never necessary.

I'm a slow learner, it took me over twenty years to realise that!

yes of course but the opposite can be true too . I know its senseless logic but I guess if you need one you need one , its just like food to smokers I used to be one and yeah I agree with that other comment that it took me years to figure out that smoking is never necessary too  .

Sadly, one can't legislate common sense. This is another way government is intruding unnecessarily into the lives of its citizens. If Mom and Dad want to smoke around the kids, that’s wrong, but not criminal. Do we now also send the cops to check to see if they are smoking in their home? Should the law be more encompassing? Should we make sure that the kids aren’t eating Big Macs with fries or drinking Slurpees? There will always be responsible parents who will do what is best for their kids, and parents that have trouble looking after themselves and who no kid should have to call Mom or Dad. This law will change nothing.

Thank God almighty for the Liberals making us safe,Gangs, drugs, prostitution etc. are still cool, what a relief. It's a good thing that the evil weed tobacco has got everyone sooo distracted. That's quite a guy there you have in Ontario with good'ol Dalton....long live cradle to the grave Liberalism
