ASLplease ASLplease: plus what is so wrong with what he did? he warned her of what her actions were going to instigate.
i have no doubt that touching a police officer with anything during a protest can be grounds for arrest.
bubbles, cream pie, confetti, water, even blowing in their face could be a bad idea.
she got what she deserved....a stern warning....and when that wasn't enough, she got arrested.
this guy should get a medal for being so upfront with her, he could have stayed quiet and just arrested her without warning. instead, she was given an opportunity to stop. Bubbles You really are fun.

ASLplease ASLplease: i think it is more likely the his 'abuse' was proportional to the hippy bitch's actions and facial expressions.
while he was talking to the woman, the camera remained on him a fair bit, so we dont know if the woman stopped to listen,or perhaps she was trying to not pay him any attention.
That whore bitch hippy probably stuck her tongue out. Should have tased some respect into her!

ASLplease ASLplease: Zipperfish Zipperfish: andyt andyt: @ASL - you were outraged when you heard about Vancouver passing a law to ban smoking in parks to stop smokers blowing smoke in peoples faces. Yet you weep for this officer because he might have got a soap bubble in his face?
Some of the right wingers on this forum really seem to be "good Germans" ie the police can do no wrong, ever. The anti-digger dicks I guess, or ADDs for short. Of all the people on CKA, the hypocrisy of ASL is probably the most staggering in depth. I can only wonder at the mental acorbatics it must take to maintain such a logcially inconsistent outlook. did i hurt your feelings too? i am very sorry about that. I'd suspect it's more about the substantial hypocrisy at play from a guy whining constantly about the government restricting his rights while whining about a hippy bitch blowing bubbles in front of a cop during a protest.

Zipperfish Zipperfish: Drove about five miles down the highway (somewhere's between Surrey and White Rock in the boonies) and kicked him out to walk home. At least they left him his shoes. If you really pissed them off, they'd take your shoes.
They tried that in Saskatoon, in winter. Several officers are now security guards.

Lemmy Lemmy: What I don't understand, ASL, is why you're "for" the cop in this case, while your fundamental fear is that the cops are going to come and take your guns. Contradiction. Are you in favour of individual freedoms, against them, or do you pick and choose when and whose individual liberties ought to be protected? Is the government, in your world, supposed to bully everyones' rights save gun owners'? I just have a general belief that most people on this thread that disapprove of bubble's actions knew in their mind what side they were going to take BEFORE they even watched the video. I'm just playing devil's advocate, but I'm trying to do it by staying reasonable. and many of the things I've said demonstrate that we really dont know what happened that day because we dont have video camera footage of everyone involved at all times. I know you made fun of my post about the hippy bitch making faces, but you KNOW that this is all that it would take for a police officer to feel disrespected. And, lets face it, if she did make faces at the police officer, it would indicate that this story isn't as black and white as some of you want to make it.

actually, based on the police woman's expressions, I would have to assume that the hippy bitch was making at least some form of expression while carefully not saying anything that the video camera would capture.
go back and view it again, and you'll see what i mean

It just surprises me that you, being a strong advocate of individual freedoms, would side with cops on this one. ASLplease ASLplease: I know you made fun of my post about the hippy bitch making faces, I did? I don't think so. You're confused. If the cops hadn't been sent there to confront there wouldn't have been an confrontation, but that's not the discussion at hand.

Especially if he had the testicles to taser the shit out of her then and there. I can see it now ![Eating Popcorn [popcorn]](./images/smilies/popcorn.gif) her vibrating up and down the street while a billion bubbles are wafting gently over downtown Toronto.

I'd say the Cst. was out of line, there are other ways to handle the situation. In my opinion he escalated things which may have created a situation that put other officers lives at risk. I think this was obviously a very high stress situation and the Cst. clearly cracked.
just my 2 cents
And before people just decide to label me a cop hater, know this my dad was a cop for 27 years and my brother is approaching 10 years on the force, and my brother was supposed to be at the G8.

It is amazing that none of you clicked on the longer video that shows how freaking inapropriate the G20 police were. It makes Bubbles look like an angel.

I side on the side of basic common sense, which includes not getting in the face of a police officer if you are attempting to participate in a protest without getting arrested. The hippy bitch has the right to peaceful assembly, and I support that right. but she has got to realize that she should have focused on the protest not the police officer. Actually, I'm kinda surprised that he said assault, I would have suggested interfering with the duties of a peace officer.......certainly during a protest, that would include all forms of harassment no matter how harmless the harassment seems.
